That's what happens when prats don't stipulate a division.

Re: catch up games?
Hearing a whisper that the Saturday Div 1 catch up games (Villa vs Comets and Stirling vs Saints) are to be played this Wednesday night.
Title winner and relegation teams confirmed by 5pm this Saturday.
Good move if the SAASL have enforced this.

Re: catch up games?
Been told that Stirling had previously refused to play this at an earlier time. Don't know their reasonings.
Also been told that, iggies rang the league and demanded the catch up game was played before the end of the season as they believed saints lacked so much integrity that they would throw the game to ensure they got sent down.

You must have missed the part where I said - "I was told". I haven't told him he's wrong merely said what I was told.otto62 wrote:So you don't know ... you've just been told something by someone else ... but still you comment. Re: catch up games?
Comets cannot field a side tonight, have informed SAASL.
No game tonight between Villa and Comets, as I have been told...
SAASL to have a meeting to resolve the matter, notify both teams in future
looks like the Div 1 Premiers will NOT be decided this weekend!

Adelaide Villa have been notified that both games have now been cancelled
Has the Stirling v Saints game been officially cancelled to?

Re: catch up games?
Pretty poor outcome if true. Lack of leadership from the saasl on this one. All league results should be final by 5pm on the last Saturday so titles, promotion, relegation are determined at that point (barring any final match day postponements). They've had at least 5-6 weeks to get these games played mid week or on a cup round.

Villa and Saint Peters were both still in the cup.Der kaiser wrote:Pretty poor outcome if true. Lack of leadership from the saasl on this one. Come of it, it's the amateur league not the Premier League. My old league in England would have teams finishing a month before some others. It's not the big deal others are making it out to be.
I even heard that one potentially relegated side whinged to the league about this demanding that the catch up game be played before the last round as they didn't believe that Saints would try hard enough or would potentially throw the game to make sure they got relegated.

Re: catch up games?
Seems a critical game now..if Stirling lost by 4 goals then they could be relegated....if they forfeit and lose by 2 goals then they should stay up.YNWA_#lad wrote:Stirling game is now off.

When I looked the other day, I thought 3-0 would be enough to see iggies stay up.swannsong wrote:Seems a critical game now..if Stirling lost by 4 goals then they could be relegated....if they forfeit and lose by 2 goals then they should stay up.YNWA_#lad wrote:Stirling game is now off.
You'd think the league would make Stirling play the game but the competition rules would mean it could happen. You would like to think that Stirling and St. Peter's would have a lot more integrity than to let that happen.
One iggies player actually said to me they should call it a draw and relegate them as they've been shit all season.
