Bloody disgraceful showing from the officials handed it to Liverpool on a plate. If they play like that next weekend, the Goons will spank them.

That idiot linesman needs to be sent back to non-League football until he learns the laws and their interpretation.
Coutinho clearly offside, distracting Bournemouth's 'keeper.

Where were their furious protests? They should have bullied the Ref to go across and speak face-to-face to the Assistant Ref, which would have brought both officials thinking time.

Is Bournemouth already acting like it's just happy with the best consolation prize in sport - A$135.7m from the EPL just for showing up? And expecting/accepting to be relegated straight back down after 1 season? Their Chairman was quoted as saying this is the land of milk & honey & there's never been a better time to be here.

Chelsea, Man U are the best at this. Big stage nerves methinks. And yes, clearly offside in my book.

It was offside, and Bournemouth should have had their goal given.

The whole offside rule IMO should get rid of subjectivenesss

whoa settle down mate, it was a split second decision, the XI Bournemouth players and their gaffer weren't sitting around a 65 inch Samsung where they could instantly have seen Coutinho was offside. what did you want to see, a protest? the old "score review" like in the AFL?

Bottom line, swings and roundabouts (usually). Am sure it wont take long till Liverpool get ripped off by poor decisions again.

Watch it again and the keeper and defenders do appeal to the lino, albeit a bit half-heartedly. More to the point, Coutinho never got onside, so the decision should have been ridiculously easy and it's not like he was half a yard off, he was three yards off. As for the Bournemouth goal, the ref made a mistake but you can at least see why he made it, he was effectively conned by the defender's reaction. IMO that is forgivable which the offside is not.

If Sky (I was watching in England) can say it's offside within ten seconds of it being given, why can't we have a score review for goals? All they have to do is watch the same TV as the rest of us and we'd have a correct decision long before they were ready to kick off again.

Con M I think you need to relax. Perhaps the half-hearted appeal was because they weren't sure he was offside? I don't think they're just going to give up easily. They have the quality to stay up.
As for their goal, you can see why he gave it. I'm on the fence. On another day it would've stood as a goal however I don't think it's the wrong decision. Could go either way.

Quite clearly was the wrong decision.

As soon as we scored I said it was off side - didn't need a replay, it was a bad decision, but that's football.

it was an odd decision, that linesman must have been day dreaming. Still not created a lot of clear chances but to have 6 points after 2 games can only be a good thing.

No way, delays like reviews in Cricket, AFL, NRL, NFL & the like.

Soccer-football has got it right, with technology only used for G.L.T. where the result of the ball crossing the line is reported to the Ref's watch within 1 second.

I think it's good that benefit of the doubt in offside decisions go to the attacker. But Coutinho was WAY offside.

Liverpool got another off-side call in their favour no benefit given to Ramsey.

we were lucky, but can see why it was given (as in human error in close call). Unlike the one last week that was an awful error.

Whatever happened to benefit of the doubt to the attacker eh. Early days I know but can you see Benteke being a long term solution, he still looks pretty one dimensional to me.

I am not 'defending' it per se, just saying mistakes happen. it was quick and we were lucky. There was another one when we given off side incorrectly, it just didn't end up with a goal.

I like Ben, but don't like one up front - it leaves him too isolated.

But then you'd be a club with lads of fans but most people in your city supporting the side in blue. Oh wait...

Well at least they are trying to play to his strengths I suppose. Either way looks like Rodgers has learned some hard lessons in the transfer market. The squad looks much more solid than previously, Clyne & Gomez are 2 great young English lads, proper full backs too. Milner always quality and Firmino shows promise. If Rodgers keeps his head things might finally be looking up.

Benteke has looked good so far. He's decent on the ball and works hard. A couple of better finished and he'd have 3/4 this season already. He's getting into goal scoring opportunities. He might be partnered by Sturridge when he returns which could work better.

Very funny, but the point remains, is Rodgers a top line manager, or was he just very lucky that Luis Suarez was at Liverpool?

Maybe he used to support another side like qpr before he changed allegiances to a bigger club?
