Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
Whilst this is not a common problem in the top two divisions in the SAASL .. it has been a problem with certain clubs throughout the history of the SAASL .. I understand that alot of people think the SAASL revovles around the top divisions including radio shows .. there are still players, volunteers and supporters that still follow the other divisions.
Is it time that the SAASL take a tougher stance on the clubs that repeatedly keep playing dual registered/ banned / false name / players .
my thoughts are that if a club is found guilty once that all player registerations are to be bought into the league with the player and the player produces proof of id to match the registration . And the league will do random audits through out the league . The club should be on a suspended $500 fine for the first offence and loss of points for the season . Second offence would see the club and player banned for 2 seasons. A third offence would see all players from the club banned from playing at any SAASL club for 3 years.
It may seem a bit harsh but the intergity of the competition is the most important thing to keep ....

Come on Passit which clubs in particular are you talking about?
Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
SS, GU.... but lets look at the past as well... especially in the lower leagues.... maybe the SAASL could re-introduce on their website suspended players for the current round as they did earlier .....You Too wrote:Come on Passit which clubs in particular are you talking about?

People playing Div 4 reserves don't expect to be competing against current Federation players... and the associated carry-on when they score against you is ridiculous given the disparity in skill level and fitness.

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
it's easy, every club forfeits those teams and when asked why, explain. Eventually the players get sick of driving and give up or they win leagues on forfeits and it becomes a problem for someone else. Sierra Stars lost all points and still play unreg guys and or fed players who quit their fed teams and because they never paid fees did not get released, FFS they did it the very next game after being docked.

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
The players are not registered it's that simple, most are currently playing feds or have left their fed club because they are benched for not training etc. Usually they do not pay fees and their fed club will not sign any release papers until they cough up the $$, which of course doesn't happen. This then stops them joining a neighbouring fed team, so they come to saasl and play under another name. Let me just say if this was to happen in the higher leagues, there would be absolute up roar if a farm, jets, downs, etc lost a league or were beaten in a cup by these teams, so why let it be acceptable because it's div 34or5. We are not talking 1-2 players that should not really have such a big affect, we are talking 4-6 players which can completely change the outcome.God is an Englishman wrote:Why not just let people play both days anyway?

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
How is this any different from clubs that openly pay players match payments in an amateur league?

The difference is, one you can stop, the other paying players is impossible to stop.

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
I was under the impression that clubs can pay players up to $100 a game for "expenses". If they pay more than this then it must be declared and justified.Black_Panther wrote:Have they changed the rules?God is an Englishman wrote:Because even though I disagree with both, one is against competition rules and the other isn't.Black_Panther wrote:How is this any different from clubs that openly pay players match payments in an amateur league?
Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
At the end of the day it is Amateur soccer. It's played socially, does it really matter that much if you win or lose.
You're not playing for sheep stations. If a team feel the need to cheat to win an amateur league division the rest of their life must be pretty pathetic. If it makes them feel good about themselves good luck to them. They obviously need it more than you do, so let them have their plastic trophy and meaningless medals.
Get a life people one day you'll gonna be dead and it won't matter much then either.

Of course it matters if you win or lose. We're not kids. If it didn't matter we wouldn't bother training. You Too wrote:At the end of the day it is Amateur soccer. It's played socially, does it really matter that much if you win or lose.

Then clubs wouldn't need to pay players either if it's played sociallyYou Too wrote:At the end of the day it is Amateur soccer. It's played socially, does it really matter that much if you win or lose.

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
Agreed. You won't stop that either. Lifes not fair but does an Amateur League medal mean that much to you that you're going to stress over it? You can't control what other poeple do but you can control how you react to what they do.
They're cheats, you know it, they know it, the SAASL knows it he'll we all know it. But at the end of the day who gives a shite? They get a medal eveyone knows they don't deserve, they obviously have a pretty pathetic life, don't let them bring you down. Laugh at them that's all they deserve.

Re: Clubs that repeatedly play ineligable players
In some cases promotion or relegation can help a club grow or can hurt a club. No club in ANY division deserves to be relegated or miss promotion because a CLUB doesn't follow the rules....end of story!!
