Cup Comp

Post by BillShankly »

How unfortunate is it to see clubs dropping players back down to compete in their respective competitions

For example if your dropping under 15 boys down to under 14s to help bolster the team theres no point winning a round, because it disadvantages the boys who are left on the sidelines and eventually they'll get cup tied with the 15s anyway.

You should only be allowed to play the players that represent that team week in and week out.

Could not agree more Bill. That is absolutely PATHETIC. Very poor darts.

 Older posts went through all this last year. I'm with you Bill...some clubs would rather have Juniors winning silverware in lieu of development of the squad and players. Sad but true. Looks like the Under 19's rule has changed too. Here we go again

Absolutely agree Bill...what a shame for kids who play in a team week in week out only to have to stand out for cup games!

some kids may (stand down sounds better than stand out 8) ) but it also causes angst amoungst parents especially when the "gun" player do not get the win.

Better seeing the team through thick and thin, more rewards and no internal "you wouldn't of won if it wasn't for us" attitude.

(heard that one last year through the grapevines)
