Division 7 Fixtures?
Anyone know when the division 7 (C) fixtures will be available?
Hoping there's 10 teams and nobody drops out this season.. last year sometimes we had no games for a month due to Cup Rounds / Bye Rounds / Week break...

Re: Division 7 Fixtures?

Just seen that division 7 has been posted... but it's not C's and we're not there (Prince Alfred) !
Anyone any idea what's happening? What division are the C teams playing in this season?

it looks like Cs to me and two 1 team clubs - strange that Muno Para / Angle Vale & Gardens are playing Saturday - SID / LRO any reason the Gardens are Saturday, possibly a 4th C?
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
Gardens team is our Colts from last season. In 2016 we will field 2 teams in the Saturday competition with our Colts from this season.spooky1972 wrote:Cadenza wrote:Just seen that division 7 has been posted... but it's not C's and we're not there (Prince Alfred) !

What are everyone's home KO times in this division?
Mt Compass will be 3pm.
I expect Munno Para and Angle Vale to be 3pm too, as per seasons past.

Would this be pending the other side, surely clubs can't just dictate a kick off time. What if the other teams can't do 3pm? I know many of our C guys are club folk and will be at senior games not playing at 3pm - I guess a few forfeits will be done this year, at least three anyway from our club.
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
I agree with what you're saying but cubs dictating kickoff times isn't new.
How ironic is my avatar?
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
This was happening last year in this division. Teams moaning about KO Times. Mount Compass has always been 3PM KO as with Munno Para and Angle Vale. The League ask what our KO time's are, so we don't dictate what we want, maybe blame the SAASL as it's it's them who sort the leagues out. As said we have always been 3PM but we don't whinge about playing 11.30AM KO at other teams. This is as much as a problem for us as we have players that coach and have kids that play and will miss matches but we take it as it is and get on with it. We travel up to the city and past every other week and never forfeit but we already have teams talking about it even before a ball is kicked.

I can't speak for every club but our C team include club coaches, club presidents, club fitness staff etc etc and these guys are not playing at 3pm, therefore our club may not field teams for these games. In saying that sure maybe the SAASL should explain this to all clubs in this league so everyone can explain sorry we will not be travelling to these kick off times whether they are across the road or across the state. I'm quite sure some of those teams would not be happy if clubs said we will be having a 9am kick off. I also don't see any listing of this within the fixtures.
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
The situation the league puts us in means we all should be willing to have a bit of give and take. You say that we are dictating times , but your the one saying your guys are not playing at 3pm, reasons I understand, but we are willing to play early away times. Surely a team can be filled a couple of games out of the 22 games we will have this season to stop the forfeit happening, as it's unfair to us all not to play all games.

If you want 3:00pm kick offs place your team in the appropriate division.ticc wrote:This was happening last year in this division. Teams moaning about KO Times. played Cs all last year in Div7 1130 kick off every round even our sunday C was 1130am
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
If you played all last year in Div 7 you would have played 3 pm KO at our ground. If I'm correct your from ARBE who withdrew from the division within the first 4 rounds due to lack of players as well as not notifying us that you were not going to play the game against us, leaving us and the ref waiting to play on the day.

actually that was the saasl fault and yes i stand corrected that team was pulled and moved to sunday we were div 6 last year saturday and div 7 sunday
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
Unfortunately not all clubs have the luxury of being able to kick off at
11:30am on a Saturday due to junior games or other commitments to pitches
Some have 2 C teams that both can't play an early kick off
While it isn't the best option for teams not have a set time it is
Div7 & we should be thankful that we have a comp ..!! this year there is
12 teams in Div 7 with a couple of clubs not getting a chance to even
have a team allocated a spot. You have some choices ....
play the game when scheduled .... forfeit the game .... Or
pull your team from the comp and allow a team that has missed out to play ..!!
Gardens Saturday team would have preferred to play on a Sunday ... but !
With 3 senior teams and 3 junior teams all playing on a Sunday it wasn't an option.
We have a squad that will play games when scheduled, those that can play early games
will and those with work commitments will enjoy the opportunity to play in the
games that are scheduled later in the day.
Parafield Gardens home games will probably be played after 12pm when the E&D
games are finished.
We can't always have things they way we want and I'm sure the SAASL does its best
to accommodate everyone but it can't please them all.
I'm looking forward to playing in this comp and wish all teams all the best.

Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
Let's not let this get out of hand. We had a great trip up to yours on Saturday on a special day for your club. I think for both our clubs and probably many in the Div 7 will have problems with KO times, like I said before we have always been 3 pm home games for the last 6 seasons, our ground has juniors play in the morning and I and many others play there as its arvo football, same for you guys wanting to play in the morning. Saying this we all need to give and take and make sure it's a competitive league.

exactly and we will try our best to field teams for those games, however if we cant we cant but we will at 1130 without an issue, and at this stage we have not been informed that any games are any time other than the 1130am kick off, I can't speak for other teams in the league. We also want a great competitive league but we are being honest 3pm kickoffs will more than likely cause our team issues.
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
clearly this is an issue for the league not the clubs. the league shouldn't organise a division unless all teams within that division are able to play at the same time.

Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
We were not dictating KO times, merely stating that we play 3pm KO at home games.
Reason for this include; players having commitment to junior coaching, KO time clashes with NDJSA fixtures and employment to name but 3.
If this causes your club an issue, rather than have a coniption, consult with us an perhaps we can come to some kind of one-off agreement to ensure that a fixture is played. We cannot agree to 11.30 am KO at home due to fixture clashes with junior, but other options may be available. It's childish to pick up the ball and simply say that teams should forfeit. This attitude damages the integrity of the competition.
The SAASL are well aware what our preferred KO time is. Whilst we would prefer to play in Div 4, unless we get more numbers we will remain in the lower leagues.
Last season the SAASL wrote to each club and advised them of the KO times for each club, perhaps this needs to be done once more.

Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
I believe that Division 7 will be altered slightly soon to accommodate us (Prince Alfred C).
We like to have a normal 11.30am start too, followed by B's, then A's, seems logical to us...

Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
I do understand the issue. As long as I can remember, C Grades in this Division kick off at 11.30 and One Team Clubs kick off at 3 at home.
End of the day, if you want a game you need to be a little bit flexible.

I don't get it? what's the point of having set times across the whole league. Same crap happened at Adelaide uni last year. You sign up to an amateur league the time should be guaranteed.

Good group, we enjoyed playing you last season. Having previously been in that division you should have had first refusal.Cadenza wrote:I believe that Division 7 will be altered slightly soon to accommodate us (Prince Alfred C).

However, given that there are 12 teams and no free weekends in this division, I cannot see how it can be altered (with the exception of a withdrawl).
Good luck.
Re: Division 7 Fixtures?
I believe there's been a mistake, one club has been put in div 7 by mistake, their C's team is already in another div..
