is trialling overseas worth it?

Post by fb4e »

i think i am a player of good quality and i want to play pro one day. has any one been overseas and trialled or knows some on who has? and is it worth it. How much harder is it over there? and how easy is it to get trials from reasonable clubs? Also how would i go about getting trials if i dont know nany 1 with in the club?
cheers

How old are you?
what under do you play now?
I Know players that have gone overseas, Trialles are very hard and it is hard to get one. BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE. The best way is to get with a manager and get a dvd of you playing sent over. Then see what happens.
You would have to be a very high quality player. good luck

 I'm not certain, but I thought that there were some academies that take kids to England so that the English clubs can take note

Yes, there is academies that do this. (interstate)
I think at the end of this year there is a academie that is going to do trip to England and Italy.
This is going to be for 13 and 14 year old kids.
Is that what you are looking for?
What age is the player?

im 15 playing 17s and know a person who just trialled in england and was asked to go back again when he was 16 because that's when they really look at international kids seriously (according to leeds)

OVERSEAS

Post by toon_man »

ive been over to uk with efi, the game is much harder, and bloody fast. if you are planning on goin u should make sure that u are physically strong and mentally strong. and if you are realli serious about goin overseas you should, go on the net and find phone numbers for the club you are interested in, and have the balls to ring up and find out wat happens and how to get into the system 8)

scouts rarely come to adelaide so theres basically there is fuck all chance of getting a trial unless u play at para or city.. u need to have connections and be very lucky.. in Europe wen u trial for one club and they dont want u, they get in contact with their brother clubs n u get trials with them. if u make sasi or ais ur on the right track here but theres other waiz of making it big..

I went overseas a few years ago and trialled with Arenal Juniors after they invited me back after showing good form with an elite squad. It was great and i really showed my telent but it is so hard over there to prove what your worth and the pressure gets to you. I am back in SA now playing with the Sandy Creek Devils and i would like to go back again to show England what im really worth.

Scotland\England\Germany ...... -10 upto the ankels in mud ..... can't feel the feet and kicking at football 6 days a week ... with the wind chill factor of -10 ...... that is really exciting ....... especially when friends in Aust. say they are going to the beach ........... have a good think about it............someone that knows ....... this kid was playing 1st team at 15 in SA ..... it's very hard
