OZ versus China QF live on ABC2

Good to hear that our ABC is broadcasting the do-or-die Asian Cup Quarter Final between our Country and China live on ABC2 at 8.30pm Thursday 22 January.

That will be good for the 75% majority of the population who don't have pay and pay TV.

I hope Abbott left our ABC with a token of funding to publicize this good news. With no other live sport in Australia this Thursday evening there could be bumper ratings for good ol' Aunty ABC.

I'd throw Harry Kewell ahead of bresc, he's been quality. But surely this tourney has to be it imo

I'm glad that we were so resilient defensively, Sainsbury was a Colossus, and that we were pragmatic enough to change the way we played to score the goals by putting high balls into the box for cahill to get on the end of.

How awesome is that stadium. On Saturday I had $100 Cat 1 tickets, not far from the ozzie bench, brilliant spot to watch the game from. Last night I had $30 cat 3 tickets, top tier back corner, yet the view was still absolutely top notch

Massive Chinese contingent. Bit weird how they opened up ticket sales prior to the other quarter finalist being known, they snapped up a sh!tload all together. The seat map also showed that the Chinese supporter area was the opposite side of the ground and vice versa for the oz group. Meant there were scatterings of yellow in the massive sea of red. Love how they all roar in unison the very moment China moves one step forward. Pretty funny as sometimes the ball is clearly going nowhere, but great noise all the same.

Great game its good to see the players being able to adapt and change the game when under the pump. Not something we've seen much in the past. that first 20 minutes was a bit nervy but thought we had it under control after that. I don't rate Franjic at all I think he is just not up to the standard, although he tries. Jedi had a shocker and Bresc is unfortunately past it. strange formation I didn't like that at all, Luongo was forced out wide because of it. He is a classy player. Seriously though is it that hard to put in a decent cross or corner? international players should be able to nail them every time not 1 out of every 5

3 wins in the last 4 games, now for the Semi Final.

Absolutley, Harper is a complete fool and was it only me but who the hell is Gerard Whately and what was he doing on the panel?

He's actually a highly qualified journalist. Hosts an ABC sports program & a commentator for ABC Grandstand, and I assume since it was live on ABC, they wanted a commentator from their stall. I didn't hear the sound, as the pub I was in had music on instead (vision was there).

Used to actually half enjoy Harpers commentary 10 years ago, found it a bit wity and original. Since then he's gradually got worse to the point that he just sounds like a complete dipsh!t now. Mind you it seems to be a common theme with a few of them
