it wasn't for a trip it was because gary was all over the back of him like mike tyson @ beauty pageant..in all fairness it was a scrappy game and your second goal (cross) that was going out & hit the bar and off reynolds back and in was justified with our 10 seconds to go header equaliser..

A's 2 - 2
B's 4 - 1
C's 2 - 2
A's game was a cliff hanger, Florina got off to a good start and seemed to dominated play, T Elliot brought down in the box after 30-35 mins and penalty was converted from the spot. Half time score 1 - 0 Florina's way. Easties had a player sent off approximately 10 mins into the second half for a second Yellow card. From there Florina seemed to defend rather deep and conceded the equalizer from a half-volley shot on the turn which just slipped through the goal keepers fingers. 15 mins from time, a cross Easties right midfielder came off the post and went in from far right field. 15 mins from full time, score Easties 2 - Florina 1... Number 8 from Easties was booked and received a second yellow card but was miraculously not sent off?? 1 min from time, Easties conceded a free kick 20 yards from goal, which was flicked on by the head of a Florina mid-fielder to nab the equalizer literally seconds from full time... Game was restarted and full time whistle was then blown. Overall a very tense game, with Florina failing to capitalize on some half-decent chances, however I do feel that it will be hard for teams to take points off Easties at home this season...
Good to see the Easties get a result in the first game back in DIV 1
Who got sent off was it one of the saggs
Well here in sunny wales the season is almost over and still in with a chance of promotion, just need the albino as a strike partner:-)

why are you guys denying it. if you didnt want people to know that you were paying players, you should of been more discreet about. some of your boys have been bragging about it. and you know how fast news travells around the league. am just saying that it doesnt look as though the money was to well spentLebowski wrote:Yeah, the Gully defence was a little underdone with 3 boys serving suspensions from last season. Fortunately, we have a bit of depth with the boys coming up doing well. If you are going to drop points it's better you drop them early. Expect better in the coming weeks.
As for you 'onthepissagain' I have played in the Gully first team for the last 3 years and the only payment I have received is the few JD's after the game.
Yeah and pigs might fly! However I'm not suggesting anyone purposefully hurt children - our supporters sit close to the line and once the goalkeeper charged in, the players went flying into the crowd. At least half of their supporters were trying to calm the situation down - but with all that money you'd think they'd be a bit more "professional"robbo wrote:Knight that is appalling behaviour by your visitors today.
If their crowd came onto the pitch etc there is no way the game should be replayed.
Clubs like that need to be punished.
Kids involved, how scared would they have been, unacceptable. Hope the league stitch them mate

game dominated by gully against a stubborn 6 man raptors back line.a soft penalty in the second minute (for raptors)and 10 minutes of domination by the gully in which 3-4 chances went begging then a penalty to ttg which was missed. plenty of good football was played in the first half but the score was only 2-1 keeping raptors well in the game.after 10-15mins in the second half raptors replied with a well squared ball(albeit poor defendinding), gully then regained the lead with a good 20yard strike only to see the opposition go down the other end and wait for a fumble into their path for the equalizer.raptors to their credit were better value in the second half playing more of 5-3-2 rather than 6-3-1.definitely 2 points dropped for gully. game was played in pretty good spirit(only the odd spat). still raptors created enough to suggest they'll be very competitive
thanks for the unbiased report
i think you'll find the raptors had 11 on the goal line and still managed to score 3!!!
Thanks TTG for the hospitality!!
It's as biases as KG calling a Crows game.......and he even stutters like him too!!!!!!
Sth Knights v Pontians
Ressies 3-0: Pontians poor yesterday in the ressies and really need to knuckle down this week on the track after some good preseason form. As Knight7 said 3-0 bit flattering for their guys but probably deserved their win after taking their chances. A few guys to come back from injury so early days for the ressies........ Very frustrating that the ref didn't give either penalty claim (espcially the first one), he was in great position on both occasions and both occured a crucial stages of the match.... but their's alway going to be bias from the home ref
Bit harsh to say ressies keeper is poor knight7, it was the guys first game back from a fractured ankle, made some great saves in the first half but unfortunately made a clanger in the second..
All the best to the Knights lad that fractured his ankle in the b's, something no one likes to see...
Seniors: 2-3 (???)
Knights came out and took it up to the Eagles with some good passing and running off the ball... were very well drilled which was expected from a team coached by Maxwell... a bit lucky to get their fist goal but they all count. Eagles looked very flat and probably produced their worst half of football in the six or games played this year (including trials) but did enough to be level at the break. Should have been ahead after missing a couple of sitters but as I said boys were flat.
Knights came out in the second and looked dangerous when attacking and went ahead and were unlucky not to have another couple after hitting the woodwork.... This together with a timely sub by the Eagles coach seemed to spark them into action and they scored two great goals and played the football expected from the team albeit it took about an hour for them to get started.
Game was poised for a good finish when the incident occured. Knights striker fouled the Pontian defender, referee awarded the free kick but should have taken control alot better. There was a bit of banter between the two boys... but what possed the Knights striker to start throwing punches is beyond me... not needed in the game even if he is as you say Knight7 the "wrong guy" to have a go at... maybe boxing would better suit him. At this stage a melle occured and the game was called off. It will be interesting to see what happens this week at the amateur league.
In all my time in the amateurs, once punches are thrown it is very difficult to control the situation as players will defend their own......
Knight7 some of your comments describing the incidents were dissapointing to say the least:
(1) With reference to the children being injured, you made it sound as it was done intentionally.. I'm glad you clarified those comments this moring as alot of us, including our keeper, have young families. To imply initially that kids were injured intentionally was very poor...
(2) To say that our keeper turned a one on one situation to an all in is laughable!! The incident as you said happened 60 yards from him so to say these guys went for it and no one else got involved is totally false and unbelievable. Plenty were involved before the keeper got their.... Also recall your keeper running in to have a go who was alot further away, as well as your coach/assistants etc who were on the other side of the pitch...
(3) You also didn't mention your part in the scuffle... why as a spectator would you get involved??/ why not get the kids/women out of the way instead of jumping in when you striker went down (they were your words!!!), and that was pretty early on
You critise the Pontian supporters for getting involved yet you were no better....Why not make the decision to step back, the more involved the more out of hand a situation gets
Yesterdays events were disappointing and I'm sure are not condoned by the Pontian Eagles...Any team we played against last year can definitely say the club does not go around looking for trouble.... we repect all our opponents...
Knight7 did you guys notice the state of the area where we were when we left... no rubbish at all as we took the time to respect your facilities and clean up.. can't say the same for your own supporters!!
Knight7 your personal attack on our keeper was very poor. he had a bad game and he'll be the first to admit that, but anyone that knows GE, including Maxwell, knows his quality b/t the sticks. You also had a go at him for is part in the melee and for running 60 yards.... why not single out some of our defenders or mention some of yours who were as far away.. always easy to single out keepers!!!!
You make comments about someones character without even knowing them based on his involvment in a scuffle... a scuffle that you as a spectator, not a player as he was, also took part in- should I call you a disgrace?.
Next time you see Maxwell, or our b's sweeper, ask them about this blokes character... you'll be suprised
And finally no one from our club said we'd win this league easy on here.. GE did say we should be considered as one of the favourites with our new recruits, there's no denying that.... but no one claimed we'd go through undefeated or win by 12-15 points... guys like RealOne and Paleon may have made comments on us winning it easily but their not associated with our club directly...

biased?? telling it as i saw it!! are you saying your boys came with an attacking game plan?? your boys were value for their draw but other than a scrappy last 20 mins we were the ones who dictated most of the play..thats football, you were much happier for the point than us. biased? maybe, but i'm telling it from what i saw..
Thirteen your post is fair - if we were at the end of the 2 penalty decisions in the B's we would be whinging far more (although only 1 was clear cut) As for the fight - I was on the sideline - never entered the field and got involved only when our striker was on the ground with a number of your players on top of him (also a number of your supporters stepped in and assisted me) I'm sure most people would have done the same. In reference to your goalkeeper I agree that I don't know him, his actions were poor and in my opinion he inflamed the situation - my initial posts were made after a few beers last night and probably a bit over the top
Lol not quite - "G" doesn't play for us anymorebigpond wrote:KNIGHT 7 obviously was not at the game but when you say it was the wrong player to provoke after playing u guys last year I can almost bet my house that the guy from ur side first name starts with a G and he (well at least last year) was playing up front - am I right???

First of all I would like to say well done to the knights for their game today. They took it to us and we were surprised with your hard running and game plan. You have decent players there and it goes to show if you have the right mind frame, are fit your always a chance. Yes I didnt have a great game, first goal was a bit freaky and the second I couldnt do much with. Thats what happens sometimes. After a season of conceeding just 7 goals I still think I have what it takes to play at the level I am at now. Knight 7 I was at the same weight then as I am now, not saying I shouldnt drop a few kilos but the banter of being overweight doesnt faze me. I have always carried a kilo or 10.
Knight 7 you have come on this forum last night and as you have stated you had a few beers and I bet your emotions were running pretty high, right? Now think about what happened yesterday in regards to emotions. You do things out of character and when you have calmed down you know the have said the wrong things or did the wrong actions. thats life in general
I cant comment on the melee but will apologise to the parents and the young children and the Southern Knight Soccer Club for firstly seeing an incident like that and also for any injuries, if any, that occured. I certainly didnt see any children around me at that time and never intended to hurt anyone.
I do think though both sets of spectators were sitting too close to the sidelines and this isnt a good thing.
At the end of the day it was very disappointing that it finished that way and we will see what comes of it during the week.
It funny to read what peoples comments are on here that were NOT at the game. Its like when you read a book you have a different menatl pitcure than what the author has.
By the way Knight 7, I believe one of your supports picked up my hat. Can I have it back please? it was a young lady I was told. It was be nice if you could post it back to the club or I believe you know one of the our boys from the reserves you can give it to him. Thanks.

maybe its because i dont know much about the game but can you explain how a team that came to defend (playing a 6-3-1) was able to score 3 goals against TTG (thats 6 goals in 2 games - including last round last years)???
Easties v Florina
Not too bad a game i thought for a first up hit out. First half was very very shite by both teams. Neither side playing the ball around and it was just a matter of which forwards could hold the long clearances out of defense the best. Florina got the goal from a lucky (i thought) penalty against aitken on elliot. They were tangling with eachother at every contest and i thought the ref should have let it go, as it was both tugging on eachother. but such is life.
Easties came out after the half and i think we slowed it down a bit better than florina and played more to our game plan. To be honest it looked like florina had no idea how to play against it. A stupid send of to one of the saggs brothers did not help the situation, but also seemed to rev up the boys even more. A very well taken goal from our substitute got us back in the game and even with 10 men the boys looked in control of the game. A cross from the right wing which drifted in to the far post top corner left florina a little stunned, especially shaun .
But the 10 men kind of showed late on i think and it was then all about desperation. This was ulimatley our down fall as with only seconds remaining one of the florina boys went down amongst a pack of legs, slide tackle blocks and bodys. This gave them a free about 20yrds out. A couple of slight deflections and then the ball ended up in the back of the net. Shattering the easties hopes of a first div1 win for the year.
I think going on this result that we will hold our own in this division. And its always about the depth of your squad. We had a few reserves who stepped up to another level yesterday, which is a great sign for us. We did have at least 3 regulars out this week, which again means only good things for the club.
Florina i beleive had a couple out too. But i think they need a bit more and i'm predicting a tough year for these boys.

first goal was a penalty after 2 minutes.(didnt see it myself, too many players in the way,so wont comment) like i said you changed your formation to 5-3-2 in the second half and got 2 , first one the ball was knocked square to the far post where your right midfielder got to the ball first and the equalizer was a low shot from 25 -30 yards that our keeper parried to your strikers feet ala clint bolton.thats the explanation for the goals you also hit the post very early and had 2 other good chances, like i said you were good value for the point but didnt really come to attack initially(but improved in the second half) i had a count of 10-11 chances to 6-7, and i would have thought possesion was about 65-35%. but you got a point away so good luck to you, just saying what i saw !!game of opinions, thats mine

Boys,
Who really gives a toss if the rumours are true on payments, or the fact it looks alike like" he said , she said , they said that. Really lets get on with other facets of the game & put an end to the crap.
If they pay for players & at the end of the season they didnt go too well then that club spent money for nothing. If thay go well & win the comp then good luck to them. the other teams just need to take bank loans befor ethe next season starts!

we will be fine eastboy..
with three of our better players out and actually playing three injured players showed our character on the day..and the return of one of our best players from our 2005 season next week, aswell a possible few first team recruits to come who are from feds..Florina started the first game of the season under strengthed and where saying around the club a win would be great but happy with a point.
i have been called for lesser penalties in my life.
