Cook might be a great Test player, but he's definitely a reserve for their ODI squad.

No, not a computer geek so wouldnt know how but I remember what I saw and obviously the third umpire did too.God is an Englishman wrote:Bomber wrote:The front on view was what nailed it. Seen it, NOT OUT. Can you provide this conclusive picture you have mentioned.
Bail was dislodged, his foot was in the air, thats all I care about. Dont remember what commentary team was saying.God is an Englishman wrote:No, not a computer geek so wouldnt know how but I remember what I saw.
I think you're probably making the same mistake that the Channel 9 commentary team have made.

Thats where you're mistaken. It was off both (before foot came down). OUT!God is an Englishman wrote:Bomber wrote:Bail was dislodged, his foot was in the air, thats all I care about. Was the bail dislodged or removed from the stump completely. Remember both ends must be away from the stumps to be out - it wasn't, only one side was.
disagree completely, as do MANY others (including australians)Bomber wrote:Thats where you're mistaken. It was off both (before foot came down). OUT!
I think the bail was up at one end but not completely removed. I think if the situation was reversed then you'd be claiming he was not out.Bomber wrote:Agree to disagree then. Like I said, at first I thought same (not out) but after that particular front on angle was shown a few times, it was there, and obviously the third ump saw the same.
This part very true. The umps have got lazy since tv technology and find it easier to let the third guy make the call. Silly thing is the more they do it, the more they may one day just say we dont need them (the two in the middle) any more, thus losing their jobs!God is an Englishman wrote: On a side note, why don't umpires just make decisions any more. Every run out goes to the tv. 2 in England innings went to the TV and they were obvious to me on a dodgy angle and 50m away. Yet a bloke in line 10m away can't decide.
Just have a hat stand with a camera in it, instead of umpires. Decision put up on the big screen for wides etc..Bomber wrote:This part very true. And a beep mechanism for no-balls much like in ten-pin bowling??God is an Englishman wrote:Just have a hat stand with a camera in it, instead of umpires.
