Re: LFC Legends
So many other "legends" but to me they're Dalglish, Keegan, Hunt, Toshack, Gerrard, Clemence, Suarez, Owen, Kennedy, Neal, Rush, Callaghan, Souness, McDermott, Carragher, Shankly, Paisley,...to name a few.................

Im with Haywood......good players, even great players don't automatically become legends.

I gave MY opinion on who I thought I considered legends, so if you dont like it, go fuck yourselves and pick your own..☆. wrote:Suárez definitely not a legend.

And thats why some will have their heads buried in the sand about him. I'm rating him as a footballer, nothing else. Maradona wasn't an angel on and off the field, but still a legend..☆. wrote:Never be forgotten for the wrong reasons.

Rush was my favorite

Not disagreeing but you can be a legend without playing a lot of games.ozzie owl wrote:McAteer whilst a good player,100 games for Liverpool not quite legend status .Digger wrote:Fowler, McAteer and Hamann coming to Adelaide 5th January 2015.
Smicer, wasn't loved by many, but after scoring in the CL final and a penalty he has legendary status from one game. Dudek the same.

Re: LFC Legends
I always liked Tommy Smith he drove them to so many famous victories and always gave 100% - he would have given his life for the club to secure a win if he had to.

Re: LFC Legends
which begs the question "how do you become a legend?"
games played
years served at the club
individual honours won
long term contribution to success - winning of trophies
one off feat during an important game (grobbelaars spaghetti legs in the '84 final or Shane Ellens 5 goals for Adl in the '97 GF)
others???
Suarez meets only 1 of the above criteria......

Give it a rest ya phoney Scouse. In twenty years time, everyone will still remember Dalglish, Rush, Fowler, but Jerzy Dudek pleaseDigger wrote:Not disagreeing but you can be a legend without playing a lot of games.ozzie owl wrote:McAteer whilst a good player,100 games for Liverpool not quite legend status .Digger wrote:Fowler, McAteer and Hamann coming to Adelaide 5th January 2015.

I thought they were going to win it in normal time. They had the chances. I know in twenty years time I'll still remember Dudek.

Re: LFC Legends
According to dopey Digger, one decent game and you become a legend. It's a term, like 'World Class', that's bandied about far too easily IMO.Bomber wrote:I'll remember him too, but only as he's a Pole.Jim's Alterego wrote:I thought they were going to win it in normal time. Re: LFC Legends
I guess we all have our own thoughts to what constitutes what. To some, anyone who has worn the Liverpool red is virtually a legend. So be it!Nice One Cyril wrote:According to dopey Digger, one decent game and you become a legend. Re: LFC Legends
It's all relative to your club, Jimmy Montgomery is considered a legend at my club for that magical save against Leeds in '73. Wouldn't have it any other wayNice One Cyril wrote:According to dopey Digger, one decent game and you become a legend. To see me. I may let a few hundred into the venue to see them too.Stuckey wrote:So what are they coming here for?Digger wrote:Fowler, McAteer and Hamann coming to Adelaide 5th January 2015.
(they are doing an Aus tour, and they were not coming to Adelaide but they have been persuaded to add us)

Sounds great. I met Fowler while in London, seemed like a great guy. I'm sure he recalls those 3 seconds! Any details? Link?Digger wrote:To see me.
