I've had the opportunity to work with Rob and be there during his team talks and from what I've seen nothing can be further from the truth. Has the respect of all at the club. It's always easy to hide behind a username and sling shit on people from seeing them in 1 game. Why don't you go down and watch Rob conduct his training sessions before you start judging

Wow it would be great if some kids got on and posted their own point of views! Obviously some parents feel so negative about a coach, I don think one child who has played under rob would say a negative thing about his coaching techniques, it was great when your club was winning under him. What did your son not get chosen to play at Cumberland?

Going on what happened on Thursday night at the semi final of the U14 cup between AC & Cumberland. Rob unfortunately conducted himself terribly. To verbally attack an opposing 14 year boy with personal comments is just not acceptable and to be spoken to on at least 3 occasions by the referee to close his mouth or risk being sent off was ridiculous. Anyone who was close enough to the coaches side of the pitch can tell you that his behaviour was a disgrace. Looked like he lost his cool maybe because the result didn't go his way.

Going on what happened Thursday night - I understand a coach should never speak to an opposing player totally agree with you. However I don't think the coach spoke directly to the Lad but did comment. And you can't tell me that when A player goes sprigs up that any coach / parent anyone would not make a comment. I think before we make character attacks, let the Lads play. And at the end of the game if you think the opposing coach is not right or out spoken don't be two faced and shake his hand and then get on a forum and make a comment, say something there and then.

I heard the comments made as I was standing behind the coaches boxes and unfortunately you are incorrect with your information. The boys name was actually stated by Rob and the player was offended by it so the comment was directed directly at the player and he new it. In relation to the coaches there definitely were words exchanged between the 2 at the time of the incident and I would think that the coaches would always shake hands at the end of a game as a sign of sportsmanship and you would think that the losing coach would be in no state to discuss anything once the whistle goes..... I believe the 2 coaches know each other and have mutual respect for one another also.

The main issue is what was said on the night and again directing comments to an opposing player is not on no matter what you say...

My son plays for Cumberland under Rob. He loves playing for him. We are very happy with how he, and the team are developing, and the style of football they are playing. Cumberland are very happy to have Rob as a coach and appreciate the amount of time he puts into developing our boys, and the commitment and professionalism that he shows.

Of course a coach his going to react to a studs up tackle when the ref does nothing about it. (I have never seen a match were a coach does not appeal to a ref over decisions)

He is only looking out for his lads.

To hijack a a positive thread to denigrate an individual shows a distinct lack of class.

So you feel him abusing opposition players is ok because his looking after his players.
So when his player head butted the AC kid that was ok also. He was happy about that one .
I understand that at Cumberland they may except that behaviour and think it's ok .
But most other club don't .

If Cumby get dropped to State League then the all the kids will be playing State League football in 2016, is this right? this may make decisions a bit difficult over the next couple of years, especially with Strikers going down and maybe some of the western & northern suburbs going up (with cheaper fees too)

Cracker game by both teams played in good spirit apart from this particular incident - what seemed a very poor decision by the ref not to deal with a late challenge appropriately led to some friction but ref was on the spot and was handled on the night.
I would have thought any abuse by a coach of an opposition player + a "head butt" would have received a report/red or the ref shouldn't be paid for his nights work.
