Uni haven't, BOSA went back on their agreement.
A cynical person would say this is a result of them having the previous game abandoned for their crowd problems at their ground. But I'm sure that's not the case.
I was told that BOSA agreed to the fixture change to Friday night before the season started and have only just recently requested it to be changed back to Saturday.##quote//

At the begin of the season at 2014 SAASL kick off night AU president advised all Saturday clubs of the OPTION to play Friday night when AFL games clashed on a Saturday with AU home games.
Simple, we BOSA didn't take that option.

So based on what you are saying, why did it take until now for you guys to make your mind up? Did you not tell anyone that you weren't going to take the option?BOSASC wrote:I only have second hand information Hawkesy so I don't know the full story.Black_Panther wrote:God is an Englishman wrote: Isn't it your home game? Personally I'm glad we didn't play Friday night as it was freezing.

Round 15
Vipers v St Peters
Old Ignatians v Wanderers
Sturt Marion v Adelaide Uni
BOSA v Comets
Modbury v Titans
Now, if there are any catchup matches next weekend or mid-week, can relevant teams let us know? I'm going to Brisbane on Saturday, so won't be able to update everyone.
Postponed matches:
Round 10 - St Peters v Vipers
Round 10 - OISC v Modbury
Round 13 - Modbury v Uni

Please note the SAASL have confirmed the round 5 first team game BOSA vs Adelaide Uni will be replayed. Therefore the 1-0 win to Uni needs to be corrected.

If true wow! That decision took a long time to be made. Has a date been set? Will they appoint the same referee?BOSASC wrote:Please note the SAASL have confirmed the round 5 first team game BOSA vs Adelaide Uni will be replayed. Therefore the 1-0 win to Uni needs to be corrected.

The decision was made over a month ago no date set. Thought we should make it public as it's going to be a tight finish to season end.

On what grounds was this decision made and is the game replayed in its entirety i.e. 90 minutes and 0-0???BOSASC wrote:Forum Clown wrote:If true wow! That decision took a long time to be made. Why would Uni lose their 1 goal lead (I stand to be corrected if they were not winning 1 nil at the time) for an incident that had nothing to do with them???BOSASC wrote:Over zealous referee common sense prevailed, full game replayed
Surely if the replay was merited, it would continue with the same scoreline and time elapsed??

Does that happen though in a replay?scipio africanus wrote:Why would Uni lose their 1 goal lead (I stand to be corrected if they were not winning 1 nil at the time) for an incident that had nothing to do with them???BOSASC wrote:Over zealous referee common sense prevailed, full game replayed

I thought the game starts from scratch?

Not sure of the rules, but you would be pretty dark if you were Uni if this is the case, especially as this game can go a long way to be being a title decided.Black_Panther wrote:Does that happen though in a replay?scipio africanus wrote:Why would Uni lose their 1 goal lead (I stand to be corrected if they were not winning 1 nil at the time) for an incident that had nothing to do with them???BOSASC wrote:Over zealous referee common sense prevailed, full game replayed

Yep. Pretty crappy really. As soon as the game is abandoned, for whatever reason, that's it.Black_Panther wrote:Does that happen though in a replay?scipio africanus wrote:Why would Uni lose their 1 goal lead (I stand to be corrected if they were not winning 1 nil at the time) for an incident that had nothing to do with them???BOSASC wrote:Over zealous referee common sense prevailed, full game replayed

From there you only have 3 options:
Either the score stays and you move on with the season.
One team gets penalised and you apply a penalty score (forfeit, etc. usually 3-0 or 2-0).
or you replay the game as if the first one never happened.
Personally I think there's a bad precedent set here.

What happens to the goalscorers as well?bench-warmer wrote:Yep. Pretty crappy really. As soon as the game is abandoned, for whatever reason, that's it.Black_Panther wrote:Does that happen though in a replay?scipio africanus wrote:

Does it get removed from their total like the game didn't exist?

Depending on when and where, I shallbe there. I have heard of a game in Spain that played the last nine minutes on a different day (can't recall the circumstances of why original game was abandoned) but in general they are played from scratch as though the original game never existed.scipio africanus wrote:Will be a great game to watch at any rate!

Same would go for goalscoreres and yellow cards... it's like they never existed. Harsh decision on Uni.

Just think wouldn't have been an issue I'd the idiot from your club had just moved.
Any comment on the information I was told that the ref threatened to call the police and was told by an off duty copper that he would just tell them to ignore it.
Normally your lot are so quick to call the old bill.

completely agree. Losing a game, get some idiot (a club rep apparently) to piss the ref off and get it abandoned.bench-warmer wrote:

Wouldn't surprise me is saasra jump in and refuse to officiate the game.

He was away from the pitch not doing any harm. The referee made a big deal out of nothing.God is an Englishman wrote:

The English approach to ideas is not to kill them, but to let them die of neglect.
