Sat - Catch ups
Div3 B
ARBE 3 Ade Uni 1
Ref was terrible for both teams, but he did make the flags himself, and apparently make the linesman run faster.
First time in a long time I have seen a player miss the penalty and the ref make him re-take it cos the keeper moved off his line, causing the player to kick the ball onto Military road over the trees.

Re: Sat - Catch ups
Don't forget it was also a yellow card offence for moving off his line.
Great win, now five points clear at the top

At Penalty Kicks
At the taking of a penalty, the goalkeeper moves off the line before the penalty kick is taken. The referee allows the kick to be taken. If score allow goal, If goalkeeper saves or player misses, kick is retaken. Goalkeeper is not cautioned.
Next time before criticising a referee, go of FIFA web page and down load he Laws o. The Game and have a good read of it/

Re: Sat - Catch ups
Did anyone criticise the referee with regards to the penalty?
Why is half a day at home more tiring than a week at work?
Re: Sat - Catch ups
I think the comment was he hadn't seen it for ages.

Sat 7 catch-up
Mt Compass 9 - 0 Monarchs
A very disciplined and hard working performance from The Cows. Could have been more, but we were just happy to get another 3 points in the bag!
It was pleasing to see both strikers bag hat-tricks, but probably the goal of the game was the opener from our 40-something centreback who played a lovely 1-2 on the halfway line, ghosted past another like Messi and then bent it into the top right corner from 35 yards. Keeper got a finger to it. Sublime!
Thanks to the Monarchs for coming and making a game of it. Keep trying to play the way you do, on the ground from the back.
Other than the 1 booking which I thought was harsh, i thought the ref had a very good game too.

It was only a coincidence that 9 of the listed 15 Adelaide Uni reserve team, were also listed on the As team sheet from two weeks ago, when the original game was PP, injuries and all........

TV played best part of 2nd half with 9 men,
A couple of brain fades by Our boys, but none more so than by the ref!
Totally destroyed the game.
Thanks to the Straf lads for re scheduling

Yeah. It started as a bit of a joke, Mt Compass hosts The Compass Cup on the last Sat of January each year (http://www.compasscup.com.au/).Azzurri80 wrote:Are you guys seriously called The Cows? If so, that's awesome.DonDownUnder wrote:Sat 7 catch-up

Two seasons ago we were away to Greenock in Sat 4 and it was a bus trip. We got smashed on the way home and Jesse Liebelt re-worded "Oh When the Saints" to "Oh when the Cows" with some other changes. Ever since then it became our victory song. There is video somewhere.
We got new kit this year and the socks have "COWS" across the back of them.
I then cam across an old club badge which was a ball with cow horns coming out of it. It just fits!
Moooo!
