Cracking game between east and gully. Real end to end stuff!
Thanks to the ttg boys for coming in after the game for a beer too..

Pretty disappointed in Ian Smith though. Refused to shake my hand after the game. Yes there were some tough challenges in the game but to not shake the opposition coaches hand is piss weak in my opinion.. oh well.

Oh and what was with ttg bringing their own cartons of beer to the game?? Do they do this for all away games? Pretty poor form again!!!

Was a fierce game for sure, pleasing note was the number of players with mutual respect for each other gained over the years.

Both keepers pulled off great saves and the quality of the only goal of the game was a testament to both sides. No comments on the officials, don't have them then we don't have a game.
As for not shaking hands, that is poor form.

There were some tough challenges and then there were ridiculous challenges, and the one in question was ridiculous, it was the 4th challenge put on the gully player that was over the top and proved to be the one that sidelined the gully player who was taking the piss out of the east boys.
Not sure about the cartons brought in but personally and the ones I was with we put our fair share over your overpriced bar, thanks for an entertaining day of football, see you on the last day of the season.
Agree with not shaking hands being poor, what happens on the park stays on the park.

Really? Seriously you guys have got to get out more. That tackle wasn't worthy of anything more than a yellow, which is what was given. Your lads got stuck in too, so just leave it at that. Gully are a decent team for sure, just really young. You gotta get used to to the amateur league if your going to stick with the top few. I dont know about taking the piss. Still, pretty sure the score was 0-0 when he went off.

People bringing their own beer will always happen. No one can control it. $6 for a beer is reasonable, not the cheapest going around, but who gives a toss, life goes on.
Look forward to the reverse fixture, always a good game at the gully.

Not easy showing face after a big loss like that....congrats to Inter on the day....The next 9 League Rounds are going to be a big challenge at the wrong end of the Division.
3 games at Underdown in 4 weeks is a big ask for Knights, I hope we come away with something next 2 times.

Good typical hard fought Vale win yesterday, feels good and hopefully we can continue to put the points on the board. Cheers to all the Florina boys who came in after the game.

In the Bs we scored all our goals into the wind in the 2nd half for a good hard fought victory. It had been a few weeks since a win so was really good to see the lads put in a solid 90mins and get the result!

In the As we started well until the ref decided to give a penalty to Payneham for something no one can explain. Not long after they made it 2-0 and we were struggling. They put 2 more away in the 2nd half and killed us. They were clinical and we had a terrible game.

That striker of theirs is a gun and he punished us today with 2 quality goals.

Thanks to Payneham for supplying the booze after the game and look forward to the return fixture!
Some photos from yesterday.

I didn't take too many photos in the second half - memory card was full (Mrs didn't remove her photos from it!). And the light was pretty bad in the end so quality of photos suffered.

Best of luck to all those suffering injuries at the Downs yesterday - two of the older fellas suffered head injuries and a young lad in the Cs a broken leg - best of luck to him for a speedy recovery - hopefully the hero that wanted to go on with it after the tackle feels suitable small now.
Congrats to Westies in the Cs and Bs (good game unfortunately affected by a very poor refereeing decision) and I am sure their As will bounce back quickly.

Don't play sport if your worried about getting injured for work, simple.
Neither tackle was of intended malice or the ref would've shown red. I'll never be able to keep up with Scott either, so yes I tripped him. Big deal, professional foul I think they call it.

You gully lot need to toughen up, just get on with it & leave what happens on the pitch, on the pitch.

personally think chubbys brothers tackle had more malice in it. The 'tackle' on Number 2 from the gully was a deliberate attempt to put a young player out the game and he succeeded in doing so. I guess thats amatuers for you.. All in all a good game, credit to easties for taking their chance, gullies werent clinical enough to get a result.

the one on scotty williams in the second half would have been done by any half decent defender! i have no problem with that tackle at all. i doubt scotty would either. he understands the game well enough.

Toughen up, seriously! I am a supporter and just reckon both tackles were agricultural and should have been reds.

What was the difference between that and just smacking someone behind the play? Just a blatant kick!

Was hardly even a kick.. he barely touched him. scotty flew that far mainly because how quick he is

It wasn't the impact, it was the blatant and agricultural nature of the effort. I don't mind if it is a foul within a fair effort to try to get the ball, but that was just an effort of a lad too slow to even make a fair effort.

Not to sure about this agriculture jargon, but your right it was blatant & yes I am slow. Copped my yellow card for the foul. Move on
