Brazil V Croatia

Post by Rookie »

Oops own goal to Brazil after 11 minutes.

Did anyone else notice that Martin Tyler
called it just before it happened seems to be a very slight delay

Agree swanny....however, you can't argue if your hand is over the shoulder...especially in the penalty box...

3rd goal aresult of the 2nd. with Croatia trying to find a way back....seemed like a Croatia free kick missed just seconds before
the goal in the middle of the park...

Wouldnt mind seeing the GK's view, if he doesnt see it off the boot then its very hard to judge, being it came through a defenders legs. Did look slow though.

the 'toey' is a skill practiced and perfected from years of futsal and street football.....very little back lift, caught the keeper unawares....

It was delayed the coverage. When the goal was called the ball hadnt even hit Marcello yet. I didnt know what was going on at first but there was a 2-3 second delay at least.

1 match and the tourney is already a shambles. I didn't expect Croatia to jag a result against Brazil but FFS, if the ref's are going to look after them like they did today they may as well give them the trophy now and be done with it.

Go faaark yourself FIFA you corrupt shietes.

Brazil was always going to win. They just didnt need the ref's help. Croatia were good for 45 mins and shite the rest. spent too much time arguing with eachother ffs

SOFT????????????? - It was Gaseous!

Where was the Linesman?

I also disagreed with his decision on the foul on the Brasil 'keeper - the Croat player was clearly first up and going for the ball, just because he made contact is no reason to penalise him - it was his ball to win. :x :x :x

The Croatians can be rightly angry about losing that game - they should have won it and would have without the cheating Jap referee.

I'm still trying to gauge the reaction of the Brazilian public if the ref went against them. He'd probably be shot by now. Whilst it aint right, refs will want to get out of the place alive so will always be a little kinder to the home team, especially over there.

Croatia got rolled. They deserved a point at least up to the 72 minute.

What was a big surprise to me from the start of the game is having the Japanese officials.

I understand the thinking behind it so its a neutral but the best referees in the world come from Europe followed by South Amercia.

I thought this was a huge game and needed a top referee to step in for the game. Even if he was from Europe.

Also, FIFA use the extra referees in the champions League. WHy dont they have them at the world cup near the penalty area.

FIFA dont want to use video replays because they say theres a time delay. There would of been a few minutes wasted with the Croatian players argueing with the ref before it was taken.

It would of been quicker to send it to 2nd ref for replay. Ref says no penalty. Yellow card to Fred for diving. Free kick. Play on.

There are already enough riots out of the stadium so they dont need more inside. I cannot even imagine that happening the other way.

Im sure they told the ref at halftime that if all goes well you will have a date with J Lopez tonight and Pitbull will play at your kids party one day.

Terrible reffing clearly favouring Brazil. Reminded me of tripe dished up by the whistle blower in the Aus v Brazil game in 06 WC. Croatia played well, shame they had to cop that, may have been an interesting result if not.

Croatia deserved more but the replays of the penalty showing the defender grabbing at the brazillians shoulder. the ref was front on so wouldn't have known how strong the grab was? yes he made a meal of it, but which players at that level don't. Keep your hands to yourself in the box.

Maybe they've watched the epl and decided manhandling in the box won't be tolerated. Could it have been a directive from refs bosses? lets see how consistent they are with defenders grabbing at forwards. could be plenty of penalties

Neymar shouldn't have been on the park to score 1st goal. Why wasn't he sent off for he elbow. Replay clearly showed eyes was on the opponent and not the ball and there was a deliberate movement (strike)of the elbow into the Croatians players face. Clearly a red card.

"This referee should not be at this World Cup," said Lovren. "It wasn't a mistake, it was a scandal. Two billion people I think saw that it was not a penalty. I didn't touch him. We're really disappointed but what can you do against 12 players? You can't do anything."

So lets hang the ref, not the cheating/diving Fred or the twat defender who, despite his denial, did actually attempt to grab him over his shoulder. Why are the players always innocent ?

Are you a referee, or are you just dating one?
It doesnt matter which player did what, its the referee who makes the decisions!

The_Pessimist

that was the most disgusting decision i have ever seen

obviously haven't seen too much WC football....

heres at least 4 even more 'disgusting' decisions

maradonas 'hand of God' (1986)
rivaldo's play acting to have a Turkey player sent off (2002)
lampards 'non goal'goal V Germany in Sth Africa (2010)
the german keeper who vilonently clattered into the French forward knocking him out and denying France a certain goal no red...not even a free kick (1982)
how many more do you want?

your ignorance makes you look stupid.....

he had his hand over the shoulder and made the most of it....was it soft? Yes! did the defender give the referee a reason to give the penalty? Yes. we are talking 'real time'...no replays from a million angles and in slow motion
