And a Serie A record, 99 points
Good to see Conte has a sense of humour putting Osvaldo on away at Roma. All worked out well for him, I just hope Prandelli doesn't get any ideas from that goal.
Relegation decided: Sassuolo and Chievo stay up, Catania, Bologna and Livorno all down.
All that's left to decide next week is who joins Fiorentina and Inter in the Europa League. Torino are in pole position, with Parma, Milan and Verona also a chance.

Torino should have wrapped up 6th spot last night.
1-0 in front, against 10 men and blew it.
lost their nerve when everything was in their favour.
Now need to go away to Fiorentina without Immobile, ho got himself sent off for the most blatant dive when already on a yellow, and win.
Possible but difficult.

Re: Serie A 2013-14
Sitting in the Curva Nord amongst the Roma Ultras there was really no choice. Either that or leave the stadium in a bag. The goal was at my end and Osvaldi had just come on to Monkey chants and the loudest booing I've ever heard. Then there was silence in the Curva and the travelling Juventini to my right went wild. Let's just say the Roma fans with Benfica scarfs sat down.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Did you keep quiet when the winner went in???BAGGIO 15 wrote:Great game ended in an amazing way. Credit to the Roma fans after the game. They stayed in mass to thank the players, singing to them for close to an hour. It was a great season for them. They set a Roma record for points this season.

Gutted that Cerci had his penalty in the 93rd minute saved which cost Torino their first win in Florence since the 1970's and subsequently a place in the Europa league for the first time in 20 years.
Football is a cruel bitch so many times, that was one of the cruelest for me.
On balance it was a great season from Torino, but had their chances and lost their nerve on too many occasions.

Incredible end to the season. Shame it had to be Cerci after his fine season, but it was a good year for Toro nonetheless. Congrats to Parma, who too enjoyed a memorable run.
Re: Serie A discussion
Thought I'd give this a bump. 7-0 win overnight, thankyou very much
Heading into the international break (they always come at bad times) we have Juve ahead with Roma close behind. Napoli have made their way into the top three, with the Milan clubs providing the laughs.
How do we all see the season going so far?

Re: Serie A discussion
Roma were very impressive on Monday morning (albeit Torino are TOOTHLESS up front) and I think that Juve, Napoli and Roma are the best 3.
Sampdoria have been good, but unsure they can maintain it. Both Milan teams are average at best and this group below the top 3 is quite even with Lazio, Samp and Fiorentina looking the best.
Parma in real danger along with Cesena of going down.
For my Toro, well you sell your two star players and replace them with Quagliarella (been decent) and Amauri (WTF??) and you get 7 goals scored so far this season. It is a pity as the defence is solid but players brought in like Bennasi, Nocerino, Sanchez Mino even El Kaddouri have been rubbish. Bruno Peres and Pontus Jonsson have lbeen good signings, but there is no creativity in midfield to feed Quagliarella.
Cairo vaffanculo!
Anyway, reckon that Juve and Roma will fight it out.

Sad day for all non-Interisti...Mazzarri has been sacked!
This comes days after Thohir gave him the dreaded vote of confidence, is in the middle of an international break (odd timing) and just a week before the Milan derby. Mancini is the favourite to take over.

We will have to buy in winter with Insigne out - if anything happens to Callejon or Mertens we are short in that area
Stroke of genius by inter - Mazzarri pretty inflexible and doing it before a derby ..... Well you know what can happen when a new coach takes over, I have read Inzaghi isn't happy!!
Perisic, Ayew & Giaccherini all linked.
Great to see Higuain firing again

Re: Serie A discussion
Very good performance, the usual suspects played well and then the likes of Pereyra and Padoin also impressed. All three goals were beautifully taken too.
Sunday night calcio is always good when your team has already played and won. A night of few hassles

Juve are going to flog Torino next week... again.
Another pitiful performance in front of goal, no ideas, no confidence and yet another missed penalty. You have a striker like Quagliarella and yet you let Sanchez Mino take the penalty, WTF

Re: Serie A discussion
Torino without a Derby goal since 2002, struggling in front of goal while we have looked good defensively lately. Recipie is there for the drought to break!

2-0 up vs Palermo and now vs Cagliari and draw 3-3 AT HOME no wonder the locals are restless
Benitez needs to have a good think

Just conceded 3 away goals in the 'cup'
The problem is bigger than Rafa - lack of quality, lack of investment, 3rd should be the best expected of this squad

Juventino, as you say, all the stats say no way, but it is funny how a drought can break in a derby. I just don't see where the goals are going to come from for Toro. Really need someone like Giovinco, Cerci in the team to link the midfield to the forwards.
I think 3-1 to Juve
I think 3-1 to Juve
Re: Serie A discussion
I don't mind this. Torino ended their drought, we remain the kings
Credit to Toro however, if anybody deserved to win the game it was them. Lucky for us we had a piece of Pirlo magic to get the points.

GUTTED. I lost my shit when Pirlo scored, how the fuck did Torino lose that????
Magic goal by Peres, but then losing against 10 men with last kick of the game. Pretty much sums up the season so far.
Roma v Inter was a cracking game too.

Added value for the goal is he beat Pogba, Vidal and Evra.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:That Peres goal will take some beating in the goal of the season stakes
All 3 great players in their own right.
Re: Serie A discussion
Napoli very poor for an hour yesterday, Empoli should have put the game to bed earlier but a good fightback. Milan and Inter strugglin at present, especially the Nerazzurri.
And interesting that there's hardly any outrage over Roma's goals on Saturday. Typical, I guess.

That was offside for the equaliser
How bad were we having said that emboli were super for an hour
And Rugani woah he's gonna be class

Re: Serie A discussion
Disappointing to draw with Sampdoria after dominating the first half. Should have put the game to bed by the break.
Not sure what Genoa and Preziosi (ah the irony) are complaining about with that late goal - it was offside. Perin shouldn't have been sent off, mind you. A penalty yes, but no red card. Yet there can be no complaints about the linesman's call.

Agreed. While I am not necessarily disappointed with our overall performances the last few weeks, particularly when considering the opponents and circumstances, the result and our inability to get the job done last night means a decisive win against Cagliari is vital, particularly for momentum going into the Christmas break.Juventino wrote:Disappointing to draw with Sampdoria after dominating the first half. Benitez is very close to the door. He won't sign a new contract and there are some real rumblings with players.
I hope we get Spalletti but until Bigon & De Laurentiis realise that we need world class defenders nothing will change
Darmian and Gabbiadini apparently very close which will get the Italian quota up
Good draw for the Europa league anyway, could have been a lot worse than Trabzonspor
