Do you have enough fantasy to say 23 men for your ideal squad ?Andy1991 wrote:I think you're on crack.

Other then taking Euge instead of Birra that's a pretty good squad.

Bresciano time is over , Holland and Brattan are better than him and Luongo!Andy1991 wrote: Gk's:

Mrcela can stay but he revealed to a Croatian publication that he would accept a call from Croatia but at this stage didn’t see that happening.I don't want players who aren't sure they want to play for socceroos....if you are searching for a tall defender pick Cornthwaite.
As for the others: Brighitti:yes, Bozanic:yes, Rukavytsya :maybe yes.
B. Wright : he can stay but can he play also as left back?
Halloran deserves a place also.

Bresc is there to act as a passer in midfield, Halloran is not that.
Re: Mrčela, the question he was asked was 'would you play for Croatia if they call before thee Socceroos?'. I can't blame the guy if our coaches don't pick him tbh.

Yeah Bresc has to go IMO I'd love to see him finish off in the HAL.Andy1991 wrote:Bresc is there to act as a passer in midfield, Halloran is not that.

No real surprises in the prelim 30-man squad announcement. Still reckon McKay and Wilshire a bit lucky. Will be interesting to see if they survive the cut to 23.
Possible starting 11 versus Chile:
Ryan; Franjic, Spiranovic, Good, Davidson; Milligan, Jedinak; Bresciano, Rogic; Cahill; Kennedy.

Bresciano is our best player still btw
I really like brattan. But understand why he is not there given the system we will play

Attack looks good, midfield will get challenged, defence is a bit of a worry. Glad to see Eugene in there as well as former players Birra, Vidosic and Leckie as well as a couple SA boys in McGowan and Troisi. I think Eugene will go as 2nd choice keeper

Don't understand why the other Magowan brother was not in the squad also. He has played a full season at Hearts in the spl. Thought that would count for getting into the squad.

He's very young & has endured a torrid season at Hearts. Not sure getting thumped at the World Cup would help his confidence a great deal.Footballwise wrote:Don't understand why the other Magowan brother was not in the squad also. Any talk on where he is going now he's left Hearts? Surely AU would be considering him?Andy1991 wrote:He's very young & has endured a torrid season at Hearts. Dont think 22 is regarded as very young. He has played a season and a half for Hearts who have just been relegated and in administration. I think the World Cup would have been a walk in the park for him. Good both left and right back from the Hearts games I have seen. As for Adelaide Utd signing him, it would be great. Not sure he will be heading back to Australia though. I think he will be snapped up either with another Scottish club or maybe a lower league club in England. Here is hoping he goes well though.Stuckey wrote:Any talk on where he is going now he's left Hearts?
