Knight, dont know about your boys, but I'm sure alot of teams will lift their effort to have a crack at the money boys from Pontian. They are now expected to walk the division. You guys get 1st crack dont you? So we'll all be interested to read what you say about them after that 1st game. I hear some guy is on $350 a game. But they're not the only ones paying in Div 2 - TTG have a slush fund this year.

Has your pitch got any grass on it this year??
What only one player!!! I think the minimum is $200 and some get more for a goal or a clean sheet! With the success of the pre season gursey presentation on the weekend there are more funds availble so we are have changed our focus to target better players like the calibre of Sarkies and Vince Lia, yeah we can afford them too.

TTG with A slush fund. Who are you trying to kid ? Do players get some beer money ? Perhaps. Do we have a slush fund? No way. The money we get from our club as a hole would never be used for such a purpose, that is probably why we have struggled over the years.
On the plus side we are one of (if not the ) largest junior clubs in the state , with many of our juniours going on to federatiion. So how about some recognition for our dedication to the code ?

The only reason Pontians will get promoted is because they have a gun goalkeeper.

Everyone knows that championships are built from the back.

However Golden Eagle I did hear that he is on $500 a game, $250 clean sheet bonus and a $150 goal bonus. 8)

Clubs like this should be held accountable for their actions........ with all this money being thrown at the guy no wonder, if the rumors are true, he's struggling with substance (Stella & Jaagermister) abuse!!!

Any team that is succesful will be branded big money spinners.
By individuals that know very little about success and how to acheive it.

Macedonia won the first div a few years ago with basically a sqaud of 12 players, they had very few injuries and even less suspensions. Not money, just the best team on the park for 18 weeks. their ressies got thumped every game.

Money wont buy you a close knit team and wont keep you from injuries or save you from suspensions. The best TEAMs will win the titles.

I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

No not at all, im sure they were getting the same as anyone else in the first div. My point is you can throw any amount of money behind a team but keeping 11 quality players on the park is the key ingredient to any teams success either here or any other league in the world. If you have 18 quality players in your squad, chances are you will acheive more than if you only have 11. Masos were either very lucky or very well managed with their limited squad depth.

Macos gave beer money and free lamb on the spit after every home game. The squad that maco had that yr was very tight. We wore shirt and ties to games ( players choice ). We looked like a team and played like a team. Anybody that thinks maco payed for the title that year is a twit

well no probs for those playing croatia in div 2....they are absolute carp.....only got a o-o draw against the maco's friday night and had to rely on some blatant cheating from the linesman to disallow 2 goals and then turn the sprinklers on 10 mins b4 the end.......they are a goal average team for everyone else

Dont quote me but I believe they won all their games apart from a draw against Villa and a loss to Campbelltown.

Anyone know how they went with The Cove?

Knights have done ok, although opposition have been from mostly lower divisions - we won 3 lost 1 scored about 26 conceded about 9 beat Athelstone 5-1 and could have been 10 - there only goal was a cross! Although lost to Sturt Marion last weekend 3-5 - were 3-2 up with 20 to go but lost a bit of focus and were punished - team has improved from last year with a couple of handy additions
