anyways roma shoulda finished us off... playin against 10 men for 60 mins of the game and dominating, they didnt do too well
I think last 15 minutes they were scared of another sucker-punch by Man Utd and didn't press with so much pace and precision, rather just held it up more and it it what united would have wnated for sure.

yeh roma jst kept coming at us, they will attack quickly with 4 strikers all lined across the box. but once we got the goal they sorta tended to slow down a bit.. all we need is a 1 nil win at OT and we r through, cnt wait 4 the return leg

dun c roma scorin 3 at OT, but i see us banging in 3

Quality read that, not about football violence, but all the same a very good read. Hard to believe its based on a true story at times, could only happen in Italy.

Anyway, think the tie is very evenly poised atm, but if we serve that display up again at OT it will be curtains for our European odyssey. Need the Neviller back ASAP, to sure up the defence and possibly Evra. Dont think the scholes loss will be felt that much as his European form has been significantly below his league form. Anyway i predict a 3-3 aggregate draw and Man U to go thru on pens.

Correct. I even *shudder* somewhat like Materazzi now - what he did in Berlin was amazing, both positive and negative - and for that he must be reveered. Plus he has improved greatly this season, he was terrible last year, the year before that etc, but this season has stood up.

As soon as the players wear the azzurri, club rivalries are out the window for me, they are there as one for Italy.

I struggled to read A Season With Verona - simply because Ascoli's fans and Verona's hate each other with a passion. Now to read the Castel Di Sangro one, about an Abruzzesse team - no chance of happening :D , One book about a rival is enough.

Roma were punished for a bit of slack defending and it may well cost them the tie. But credit to them to recover from that so quickly.

Reported trouble between police and Man Utd fans in the ground.
Thats Roma's main problem central of defence - it should be known now that i'm very critical of Mexes and Chivu, who IMO would struggle at a mid-table club. If Roma are to lose, bet your bottom dollar it will be a mistake from one of these two, cause it always has been.Roma played good football, probably played better football when it was 11 vs 11, awesome to see. To see the top english side be totally outplayed by an italian club low on form is always good to see. But as usual with Roma, they bottle of shiraz it up.
I love watching games like this, where the english teams possession always is in their own half (even when 11 v 11) and the italian teams main possession is in the opposition half (even when 11 v 11) - yet italian teams are still branded defensive  .

IMO Man U will get through, but Roma to play the better football.

As for the fans - didn't hear much from the ManU faithful, but the travelling english always seem to find trouble. Although Roma's are probably the roughest in Italy without a doubt (bunch of criminals), so i'm sure many of them would of been looking for a fight as well.
They've been found out in Italy many occassions, now finally they've been found out in Europe. Anyways ManU have absolutely tore them a new areshole. Spaletti is playing to many men differently, which has meant many gaps, and ManU have been smart enough to exploit this.
