The difference is Sturt asked their opposition if they were willing to do it. They didn't dictate that that is when they will play.tibbaw wrote:Haven't Sturt Marion had a couple of Friday night games each year for several years now? They've probably been quite successful and the league like the idea of having more.
Re: Adelaide uni Friday night games
Only 1 game a year, but clubs should have the right to change to Saturday given valid reasons.
We play Uni round one and looking forward to a Friday fixture... Frees up a weekend.
But if a team has 4-5 players that work night shift on a Friday, the fixture should be changed to Saturday.

You're making an assumption on Hawkesy's word that clubs haven't.Steve#4 wrote:Whilst most love playing night games I believe the visiting club should be consulted about playing at times that aren't. .....regular. Saturday league, B's pay at 1:10 & A's play at 3:00 on a Saturday in the Saturday league.
I would be surprised if clubs have been left out of the loop re consultation with fixture changes.

So, it seems I'm not the only one who thinks clubs should have been consulted on this.
If you don't think they should have, can I start a team next season that plays home games at 11am on a Tuesday?

You misunderstand, Adelaide Uni are not in a position to dictate when the games are played, that is the league through the fixtures isn't it?God is an Englishman wrote:Black_Panther wrote:Don't the league do that through the fixtures? The Bourne Legacy wrote: The difference is Sturt asked their opposition if they were willing to do it. and consultation should have occurred with the clubs it affects, not just thrust upon us. I'm sure you agree with that, like any sane person would. I wonder why it didn't, conflict of interest perhaps?
Wel play in the saturday division, not the Friday division. Unless both clubs agree, games should be played at the usual kick off times.
So, when are the C's kicking off?

Are you insinuating that the league has acted with bias?

I have merely asked a question, whether there is one.

I think Uni should forfeit if the other team have not agreed. We sign up for a Saturday league not Friday.
