to be fair I don't think he saw Anichebe was there, but mishitting the pass and going across the face of goal was a terrible decision in the first place

Sad thing is I've seen too many players do this in the "modern game". AU was doing it a lot in the early games, Croydon did it a bit in their friendly at Cumby on Saturday (much to my frustration) and seeing a Liverpool player gift the opposition like that this morning, well, wtf is this about playing short around your own penalty area? Modern day coaches are to blame really with this play out from the back at all costs rubbish. You do it when there's NO danger...end of story!!!!!
Commentators nailed it for me last night. There are times where the experienced players just need to throw the coaches instructions out of the window & do what has to be done. This was one of those times, Toure made a bad choice, and we've dropped 2 points as a result of that. It's just not good enough.

Kolo still plays for Arsenal, just he does not know that

I hope that and in Ashley Cole still has Arsenal blood to show it against City :P

Looking more and more like it's a 3 horse race after this morning's result. Toure's error could be monumental in terms of Liverpool's season now.

Keeping in touch with the top 3, those 2 points dropped could come back to bite them

All depends on how we go at home to the 3 teams above - wouldnt totally give up hope yet, although given recent seasons, a 4th place wouldnt be all bad, but even thats not a lay down yet. I still think we can jump the gooners, based purely on each team's remaining fixtures.

Bale/Erik/Kallstrom was insinuating that after Toure's mistake Liverpool could be out of the title race. I then mearly made the point that they were never in it.

Also you will not finish above Arsenal.

Liverpool would have been only 6 points off top if they'd beat West Brom and considering they don't have any European commitments and play all the big teams at home i'd say they're in with a chance

That may be so, but you seem so sure I can only assume you'd offer some decent odds against it. I'm all ears.

bookies paying $5.50 for an Arsenal title win, doesn't seem like they are convinced yet either

I'm just after odds of Liverpool finishing higher than Arsenal. Derek is so certain they won't, I'm expecting nothing short of 25's.

If it was a two way market I'd say the correct price would be around 1.30-1.35 Arsenal, 3.75-4.00 Liverpool.

At 1001/1 that's value.
I'd take a chunk at 10/1 too. Even 5/1.

You gotta hand it to Mourinho, he is a good tactician. I've only seen the second half, because of a power cut, but from what I saw Chelsea deserved to win. He gets his defence to sit deep, leaves little space in behind and forces City to play in front of them or hit high balls into the box, then hits them on the break. Without Aguero, it worked a treat and you'd have to say Pellegrino was outcoached.

According to the schedule of matches, Everton could end up as 4th Liverpool 5th and Tottenham 6th

As regards the fight for the title, it will be interesting to the last round, Arsenal did not lead the attacker in January, so that have minimum chance for a trophy, after winning against City, Chelsea prove that is in  best shape, although "small" teams can take points as they as West Ham...

Gotta agree. Although I saw the first half and missed the entire 2nd half because of the fugn gully winds & endless gum trees killing power in Athelstone (a suburb of broad lawns and broader minds).

But for a couple of misses in that first half, Mourinho's side could have killed off that game early.

Arsenal still top into February. Dare Gunner supporters hope?

Yes very strange decision by Swansea - yes they have had a bad run but really it was always going to happen to a small provincial club that are probably already punching above their weight. I thought it was a bit of a coup getting him in the first place and doubt he will be out of work for too long.
