Lady reds v WSW

Post by Playthewhistle »

For those that aren't aware there is a coupon on the Adelaide United Lady Reds Facebook page for 2for1 entry to tomorrows game v WSW 2.30pm at Burton, pretty sure its the last game they are playing at Burton before going to the shores.

A pity more promotion wasnt done to the north and those clubs in the area to get a bigger crowd out.

Well played? if you like volleyball maybe. Very poor game, wsw and aufc missed countless chances. Aufc just kept booting it long all the time, wasn't nice to watch.

again conceding in the latter stages of the game! shame they dont have the fitness to hold onto the draws/wins, would be alot higher otherwise.

Sounds more like a mental thing then a fitness issue - wsw make a change at 90 min mark ? maybe most the players wouldve been thinking not long to go - 96th minute wsw sub does one of those "cross which becomes a shot" - one of those goals which we all wouldve seen in our time. Not a lot you can do about them.

Unfortunately that was the last straw for the Lady Reds to have a tilt at the finals I think. They have blown 8 points in the last 5-10 minutes of games which would mean they would be in the top 2. Progress is being made but I think they are not of finals standard just yet

Finals chances not blown yet. If the Lady Reds beat Canberra this weekend they will go up to 4th. Yes Canberra have 1 game in hand, but it's against Sydney, who are playing well at the moment. There's no reason why Adelaide can't keep the spot if they win this weekend.

The late goals are very frustrating. Almost seems like the defenders are panicking in the final minutes.

Stay strong lady reds! Do everything to win this weekend :)

Sydney are also 3 points ahead with 2 games in hand on us. But yes, a win this weekend is important, I think 4th is the best the girls can aim for. Nonetheless, exciting times ahead for them under Ross Aloisi. Finals next season should be really achievable! Importantly respect has been earned across the league from all our rival teams

If those stats are correct that would have been a terrible game to watch and speaks of the gulf in skill level between the mens and womens game.
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. That's why I succeed." -Michael Jordan

Wasn't a great game but then parking the bus and playing on the counter with long balls often isn't pretty to watch.

All credit to RA and the WA coaching team though more points this season than all seasons put together I believe I read.
Just goes to show what can be done when the FFSA muppet coaches aren't involved.
