Change of name

Post by gazza »

Is it true that a leading womens club is about to change their name to better reflect their independent status?
If you know, who's the club?

Both pitches were pretty good, unfortunately one got worn out very quickly, in part to the poor drainage of the oval, also due to the lack of lighting there it meant the main pitch copped a fair belting every week

Underdale Facility

Post by barbarian »

I 've been to the underdale pitch a few times now. The 2 main pitches much better than St Clair and are full sized pitches with an extra smaller pitch for the juniors(3 pitches). Have also been to underdale when the lights are on, They are fantastic and all 3 pitches are lighted, all can then be used for night training I would think that up to 8 teams could train there at any one time. Change rooms great and when bad whether they also have access to the gym and can train indoors or play indoor soccer. I would say the best facilities a 'stand alone'(not affiliated with mens team) womens club has available to them in SA. Underdale School is a specialty soccer school, coaching courses held there and girls from the school are encouraged to join the soccer club. In 2008 Nazarath college is also moving to the Underdale campus with 1000 students, hence again Olympic will have junior girls available to them through both schools (Heard St clair, had a problem with the wiring hence lights could not be upgraded, not enough lighting for more than 2 teams to train on any one night, playing surface deteriated during the year due to same areas constantly being used).
Seeing and comparing both venues, and the extra potetial that Underdale presents to Olympic. I think the club made the right decission to shift. I wish our club had a similar facility. Also have seen a couple of their trials, both there reserves and Prems are looking very promising, with some very talented young players. If they can keep the team together in a few years they will be a very strong unit.
Olympic Reserves beat AC 5-1 on saturday, Prems Drew with young sensations 1-1 but Adelaide Olympic Dominated and should have won comfortably, YS scored with the last kick of the game.
Also enigma, I think Cumberland have had three different venues in the past 4 years??( with men wherever that was, Then at Womens playing fields, now Flinders Uni, perhaps we can call Olympic gypsies 1 and Cumberland gypsies 2).

Barbarian it is well known you are from olympic, hence why you put up player wanted and preseason posts for olympic.

Just because you have placed yourself next to two schools it doesnt mean you will have first choice to the students at the school, you should see who nazareth have already aligned themselves to before making such a comment.

Name change has nothing to do with Olympic,
Is a result of legal negotiations before court proceedings are issued
