Plenty of cricket to go......it's never easy fielding for two days and considering the chances we missed, of course the performance will be flat.

Is Cook intimidated by Mitch's bowling ... interesting to watch that Cook rarely got fully behind the ball when Johnson was bowling yesterday . In which was his down fall... getting bowled on a flat pitch with the ball rarely moving ...

But if you watched Root bat he was behind every ball ....

little things like this will have been noticed...Is Cook a bit scared????

So hawkesy, is Mitch Johnson still a bunny?

Even I'm surprised how easily england are imploding, especially on such a road to bat on, nice weather etc.

Why the f%&$ would you not follow on....probably push out to 5 days now....could have had it over with a day to spare....398 not enough of a first innings lead ??

I asked this very same question a few years back. I got a few answers then, but I agree they should have forced it.

Give the bowlers a rest, there's a short turn around between Adelaide and Perth, plus make the poms feel the heat in the field.

Exactly what the commentators said...but I still don't get it....only bowled ~69 overs....the bowlers get a big rest overnight....

Having your opposition chasing a target to win or chasing a target to make you bat again... surely you would choose the latter so that you at least have a right of reply should the opposition chase down that target.

Looked like they changed the wicket when England batted. They were all at see against Johnson and co.

To be honest England look totally dispirited.

Well you weren't there if you thought nobody heard the barmy army. I was at probably the furthest part away from them most of the day and could hear them clearly.

They better get there early otherwise they might miss the game!

I'm with swanny (re follow on) - the weather forecast even then was that Monday could be dodgy, now it may come back to haunt them (again). The bowlers would have had an extra session of bowling, meaning they'd probably be all out by now. Madness, and Boof and Clarke should know better.
That said, hopefully the sun will emerge soon and we can get on with it. 8)
