Nice to see an honest opinion from the oppositionJayWalking wrote:What a game of two halves. Scotland matched Italy in the first half and were unlucky to be down 1 nil. In the 2nd though, Italy killed them as much as it pains me to say it. Italy are very good on the ball, take their time to build up slowly. So hard to get it off them
Bonnie Scotland!!
i didnt know. it was a guess. but also juventino i used del piero because it was a wind up mate.LFTWNG11 wrote:good call...Gers wrote:if we can keep france scoreless then we can keep anyone scoreless. I think it will be quite a tight match, possibly the reverse of your score.
1-0 to Scotland The Brave![]()

proving how much you know...
Italy barely got out of 1st gear, they up'd it a lil bit in the second half but that was it, top performance, Scotland were never going to score and the delivery from our full backs and wide midfielders was impressive, Oddo and Zambrotta ran the game... even without Pirlo in the midfield we contorlled that area of th epitch as well, De Rossi looked very solid. Pleased with what I saw as you could see Italy had a lot more left in the tank against a Scotland team playing their hearts out... all comes down to class.
anyway i turned it off once the second one went in. scotland were too slow compared to italy. italy were too strong in the end. still a long way to go though. i think Scotland and France will go through fingers crossed.

After victory over Scotland last night, AC Milan and Italy midfielder Rino Gattuso slammed the local press for their attack on coach Roberto Donadoni.
He said: "We all really wanted this result. The Coach was absolutely massacred in the Press this week and we were all eager to take some of that pressure off his back, it was completely unfair what was said.
"The problem is that in Italy we play the games in the newspapers first and then on the field later. We heard nothing but how many points our opponents had and how disastrous our position became despite the fact we hadn't played yet."

That second half was superb, I just watched it again, Scotland had nothing. The ball movement was top notch, De Rossi was a standout, Gattuso..impressive as always, always gives 110% for Italia. Zambrotta and Oddo out wide did quite well going forward, always presenting an option. I thought Perrotta had a good game.
If Del Piero scored...the stadium would have exploded. Did you guys hear the roar when Del Piero came on and his name was announced over the PA system? Guess that is what happens when you play in a city, in a region, where there are over 20,000 registered Juventus fans.
What do you guys think of that formation? I liked it, it worked well with Di Natale out wide, you could even stick Quagliarella and Del Piero there. Problem would be with Totti returning, he has played that lone man role for roma all year long, done superb as the lone striker, but Toni right now is undroppable. Too good a player. Wouldn't be good for Gilardino either. And if Pirlo were to start in that central position behind Toni, as Perrotta did vs Scotland it would allow him to get a little more forward than what he normally would, but at the same time allow him to deliver those killer through balls of his. Donadoni is on to something good here..hope it doesn't change.

Shevchenko > Rooney
u gotta rememba shev is there main man 4 the national team, but non the less hes a great player
i dun care if rooney dont perform for england, aslong as he performs the gds 4 his club im happy
no doubt they are both great players... but Sheva had done a lot more when he was Rooney's age, than what Rooney has done thus far... Peopel forget Sheva almost singled handedly got Dynamo Kiev to the a CL final!!!
Rooney still has plenty of time to impress and he has thew abiltiy to do alot more than he is showing, even in the EPL he has only been good in patches and is not a mtch winner suggest, Ronaldo is obviously ManUSA's match winner, anbd what a match winner.

Italy were far the better side. Scotland though to their credit did put some fine balls into the box with no-one there to stick it in the net.JayWalking wrote:What a game of two halves. still a long way to go, but france will end up topping the group and hopefully scotland pip italy to the runners up play off.
