Re: Promotions and Relegations
I have to agree it is interesting that a merged club can get straight into prems if that does happen and other clubs have to win leagues and work hard at promotion and not get a chance. very interesting scenario. Cough! Cough! Double standards Cough! Cough!
Please do not hear me incorrectly I am very excited to see west Adelaide back into the competition. Nothing to do with the club and fantastic to see Leon back in the juniors.
But FFSA

Re: Promotions and Relegations
Where do you think they should be placed? Its a tough one. I play Div4 if they were placed into my div I would refuse to play them, Iv been on the losing side of 23-0 games and it isn't fun and does nothing for either team! If they were placed in Div1 or 2 and it meant they scooped the league championship away from another club or team who deserved their spot and had been working hard towards winning the league that wouldnt seem fair either?gunners14 wrote:West adelaide, combining with olympic as a new club, into prems. Rules are bent. Yet again.
Not having a direct go at you gunners14 but I think some people need to sometimes take a step back and put themselves in FFSA shoes. I dont feel they always make the right decision, but you have to way everything up in context, people are screaming out for a better standard of prems and our W League team, and then we want to put a group of girls like olympic in a lower division because theyve combined with West Adel to offer their girls better facilities and overall management?
PHU Div1 are definetly good enough to be having a shot at Prems. But FFSA needs to have the sports best interest and if it means an unstable prems competition because PHU dont have enough strong teams/juniors underneath them just yet then that is an understandable call for them to make. Im sure in a few years they will have the teams/criteria needed to enter the Prems and remain there.

Re: Women’s Elite League Structure 2014
Dear Club Delegates
Football Federation SA would like to provide an update on the Elite League Structures for the
2014 Season. Football Federation Australia is still continuing the planning process to
implement a Women’s National Premier League but this will be a staged approach with the
aim of implementation by 2015.
Not withstanding this, the FFSA take this opportunity to remind all clubs of the current
criteria that exists for clubs to field teams in the elite competition (excluding development
squads). The requirements to nominate a Premier League Team are:
Premier League Team
Reserve Team
3 Junior Teams across a minimum of 2 different age groups
At least 1 Small Sided Football Team
Premier Team Coach must have a minimum of a Senior Licence. This is currently
being reviewed to implement a minimum of a C Licence by 2015.
All other coaches involved in junior teams must have a youth licence or junior
licence if working with small sided games teams. (Please note coaching
accreditations are currently being reviewed by FFA).
Based on the information received to date the Premier League will consist of the following
clubs:
1. Adelaide City WFC
2. Adelaide University
3. Cumberland United WFC
4. FFSA U14/15
5. Fulham United
6. MUWFC
7. Para Hills Knights
8. Sturt Marion WSC
9. West Adelaide¹
MEMO
FOOTBALL FEDERATION SA INC
¹ Adelaide Olympic WFC have officially amalgamated with West Adelaide following a full
year, 2013, of transition between the two clubs. As a consequence and following
negotiations with the FFSA, West Adelaide will be fulfilling the criteria of a Premier League
Club.
As of Season 2014 all teams will be fielding a reserves team including the FFSA Under 14/15
Team. Players registered in full-time development squad programs will be eligible to play in
the Premier and Reserves Teams.
As you will note there will be nine teams in he Premier/Reserve League and consequently an
18 Round draw will be implemented for season 2014. It is anticipated that the season will
commence in mid to late March 2014. A draft calendar and fixtures will be provided by mid
December for comment.
As per the Competition Operating Guidelines, FFSA would like to reiterate that there is no
direct promotion or relegation between Elite and Community Divisions. Entry into the Elite
structure can only occur through a nomination process, these clubs must meet the criteria
set by the FFSA and factors such as the clubs structure, strategic plan and location are taken
into consideration.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Para Hills Knights does not have a SSG Team nor a third junior team, But allowed to get promoted with one junior team in 2012 and nothing else originally. There Junior program is in only it's second year and no development except around the existing junior team, I may be wrong but seems bit of a double standard going on.
So if the club has not made the above criteria they should be relegated. Based on results in 2013 they are in a position on the ladder to be relegated. This is a quote of an official FFSA document, interesting to see they leave the knights in prems as they do not have the minimum standard.

How does that work then? Do the ladies play against themselves? As you will note there will be nine teams in the Premier/Reserve League and consequently an

Re: Promotions and Relegations
FFSA have done it again if a new club comes in they should start at a lower level regardless who they are. The two top teams go up and the two bottom teams go down like the men . If you keep changing the goal post you will have more girls giving up the sport. What about PHU keep winning the league and still have not given the opportunity to play in the Prems. what a joke Adelaide women's League should look at other states and see how they run theirs. I have no connection with PHU if a team keep winning they should be rewarded they should be able to go up. Let them have ago even if they loose at least they had a shoot. If you wont to play men's soccer play by the rules not make your own. hahahaha

+1
Also I have nothing to do with PHU they are actually our direct competition and are less than 5 KM from our club. I believe if we had direct promotion and relegation our league would be far stronger and give more incentive, as many clubs know they don't have juniors or facilities so they just do what they have to and some are just happy to keep smashing a division if need as they know the promotion is not based on performance it is only based on criteria. I have written probably way too much in this forum and looked like I have attacked clubs but reality is two down and two up makes for stronger competition. How much stronger would the relegated teams be because of it and how much stronger would the competition be if a team that has confidence and wants to stay in the prems came in. Especially with a team on a high and may add another dimension to the prems. Contray to JBJBJB comments I am not attacking PHK, both bottom teams if in the mens would have been relegated that's a fact. Two top state teams promoted fact. BUT! only difference is the criteria to be in that league in the first place in the mens and if they do not meet the criteria they play in the ametures.
So really the question may be is it actually time we had an amateurs womens soccer league? let prems and state league exist independent to an amateurs and if they fit a criteria to be accepted to state/prems league as the mens. Therefore all can be relegated and promoted in that league.
