The 8's, 9's & 10's moved from the previous ground which was shared with a rugby team.

The ground was big enough for about 5 pitches, Enfield had half for all the junior teams, while the rugby club of 10 people had the other half, the grounds are council owned but the Rugby club has an iron clad lease.

There is also a club room & car parking facilities, the council found the ground for Enfield last year or the year before because the juniors had out grown their previous ground. After negotiations failed between the council, rugby committee & Enfield committee the council sort of ordered the rugby club to share the council owned facilities with Enfield, to which the rugby club to offence. Sharing meant the use of toilets, change rooms & electricity.

Enfield was paying the rugby club rent for use of the grounds & facilities.

The Enfield/Port Adelaide City Council built an extension onto the club rooms for the Enfield City Juniors to use, this was in an effort to stop the bickering from the rugby team, the building was completed at the end of last season.

During the season break the rugby club decided that there was no room left to share with Enfield & barred the doors, stopping the Enfield juniors from using any of the facilities, including toilets & storage area.

The 8's, 9's & 10's coaches insisted that toilets were required & were also concerned with the rugby players bullying techniques, so the Enfield Soccer Club, with the help of the council, found a new ground to train on, this ground is not good enough to play on so another ground had to be found for Sunday games.
They've been training at a ground with lights & toilet facilities just off of Grand Junction Rd for the past 6 or so weeks, this Sunday they will play their first game on the new grounds at Northgate.

The older junior teams have stayed as long as possible at the rugby grounds because the pitches are marked & they felt like annoying the rugby players as much as possible

There's probably a lot more to the story but that's all I know, I hear that the Messenger Newspaper is doing a story that will including photos

No I'm not on the committee. hopefully, for the kids sake, everything is sorted.

well after reading that little escapade i will look forward to the messenger for sure, unless i am missing something the rugby players are a lot older than the soccer players :?:

well we should hope their boys(children) turn around and ask to play soccer and then see how the attitudes change.

Geez

who'd wanna be a kid now-a-days :?:
