Re: Round 1: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
just out of interest, why have the lady reds travelled the day before a Sydney game? Surely money could be better spent than staying in a hotel the night before a trip to Sydney? Perth, Brisbane i understand but this seems a bit over the top?
Re: Round 1: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Obviously lots of money this year in the pot- Which I agree is not being spent wisely- such a shame he left out so many SA players all interstaters in squad - :lol:they should get a win as this is the weakest team- SO GO REDS

Re: Round 1: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Oh, for God's sake. It's a step forward that the girls can get up there and have a good rest the night before playing a game. Good news that there are the resources to do that. Travelling and playing in one day is definitely not optimal. It's a step in the right direction IMO. And team is 1/2 and 1/2 SA and interstate. Alloisi has made the right choices. Good luck to the girls tomorrow.

Stupid comment. Leaving at 6am on game day and then time on a bus is poor preparation. They've done it in the past and it never worked.QuantoQuesta wrote:just out of interest, why have the lady reds travelled the day before a Sydney game? Lady reds up 1-0. 32', Gummer.
Halftime. Still 1-0 to Lady Reds. Nice start.
1-1, wsw scores in AET.

Way over the top. Also instead of flying to Sydney they should catch a bus and all chip in for petrol and chiko rolls.QuantoQuesta wrote:just out of interest, why have the lady reds travelled the day before a Sydney game? I mean seriously.
Re: Round 1: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Can anyone confirm the game ended 1-1 W.Sydney scoring in the 91 minute if that's true wot a huge blow 4 the Lady Reds, but hopefully a lot of positives to take away from the game

Re: Round 1: Wanderers vs Lady Reds
Congrats to Ross and the team on an excellent away result.
Good start to build upon.
Interesting to see DE having a disastrous start with last year's grand finalist, Melbourne victory.
Victory currently getting smashed.
If there is one game lady reds must win, next week is high on the list

yes 1-1 , a good start, draw away! tough on the extra time goal but, that's football - well done Ross and Girls!

If they travelled on the day people would whinge, they do the right thing and people whinge, lose/lose for the FFSA with Lady reds, no one is ever happy.
Well done Ross and all the girls.

Just unfortunate that we weren't able to take advantage of two earlier chances on an open net, very impressed they almost took the result away from home and creating the better chances.
Now I hope they are able to replicate it next week at home

Only round one but I am concerned with the standard of Referees in this league ?
While it is all well and good to promote and encourage female referees, I get the impression some are being rushed in too soon at W League level.
Watching the game on abc yesterday, the Ref let a lot go,particularly the amount of "studs up" type tackles ?
Why are they letting these go ? and who is teaching our players to tackle like this ? This type of tackling all too frequent in the other games as well.
One game where they showed the highlights, ( Perth Glory vs ? ) 1 vs 1 with the glory keeper, and the keeper clearly took the attacking play out, early in the first half - penalty was awarded, only a yellow card ??? straight red to the GK in my eyes.
Same game, Glory striker challenges opposition Gk - you could see the Gk had eyes on the ball, striker was looking straight at gk and cleaned her up had no intention of getting the ball, allegedly....and then, ref gives yellow card to Gk ???
awards direct free kick to attacking side ( and they score from it )......all that in only a minute of highlights, what was the rest of the game like ?
Players and coaches work hard to try and provide a good game , nothing more frustrating when you see petty things severely penalised, while the the heavy unlawful challenges go unpunished. At the end of the day, just my opinion.
