cant say for sure but I reckon ange has a strong case for it, especially if he wants to clean up the culture at the club, I feel that Neil believes it is his God given right to play for Australia.. not to mention the fact he is old and to slow for the job of defending against younger faster and more skillful players

Re: who will Ange pick
would be nice to see a young freshed aussie side at the world cup, with timmy as capatin, good for a goal, and off the bench as a impact player.
pretty much the only 2006 player i would take.
mind you would not be upset if everyone including timmy got cleaned out.

Re: who will Ange pick
you wouldn't want your captain coming off the bench, you would want him there all game no?

Based on last weeks game he only needs 10 seconds to score.

Re: who will Ange pick
I wouldnt expect TOO many wholesale changes given how close the WC suddenly is.
After that however, watch the broom come out in force!
Either way, hope he does well!

Re: who will Ange pick
dunno bomber, still got what 9 months to go to world cup?
still plenty of time to make changes...
I reckon Ange will organise his support staff and players around his vision.
he has proven time and time again he has good vision, knows what he wants and if anyone doesn't fit his requirements there gone, no questions asked end of..
in saying that, I am not implying he will get rid of all experienced players, just those that don't fit his plans which may well be quite a few

I'd keep Schwartzer, Bresciano, Cahill, Holman and Kennedy in the squad of the "oldies".adelaidebloke wrote:so who will be in his 25 man squad, what system will he play, style??

Attacking 4-4-3 and Milligan as captain.

Its funny hoe every single australian a league player is saying how great Ange is now
all current players also saying how great he is too.
players are like politicians they will say anything to play or get a vote lol

Re: who will Ange pick
they shouldve given wilkshire a run in the middle with bresh and someone mobile. ppl forget that luke used to have a very good range of passingSteve#4 wrote:For me....adelaidebloke wrote:lucas chop

i agree we need a diff right back
he will keep lucas, just you watch. he will play thompson too
i would have something like
oar babalj/ibini kruse
bresh mooy/brattan
jedinak
wilkshire ???? williams franjic
schwarzer
subs: Kennedy, Cahill, Ruka, Thompson?, Leckie, Vidosic, Rogic, Holman?, Milligan, Chapman, Magowan, Behich/Goodwin, Geria
so much will depend on who is playing regularly, hence why i included jedinak, who is average. centre back is a nightmare
Traore may get a look in too. Im sure im forgetting someone

Traore won't get a look in - he's not elagable to play for The socceroos despite being an Australian citizen because he wasn't elagable to play for Australia when he made his Ivory Coast appearances at junior level.mike17 wrote:they shouldve given wilkshire a run in the middle with bresh and someone mobile. ppl forget that luke used to have a very good range of passingSteve#4 wrote:For me....adelaidebloke wrote:lucas chop

Dropping Neill would be an easy popularity stunt for Postecoglou.

So our only outfield player who is a regular starter in one of the top 3 leagues in the world shouldn't play for Australia??Old Redback wrote:Surely someone with half a brain would put him on an island and never let him near a representative team?adelaidebloke wrote:i would make jedinek into a centre back
