Early career

Lawrence began playing rugby league at the age of nine for the northern Adelaide based club Central Districts Roosters in the South Australian Rugby League.[1]

A former Australian Schoolboy rep in 2002, Brenton signed with the Canberra Raiders in the same year. He stayed with the Raiders for five seasons, playing under 18s, under 20s and Reserve Grade. Brenton did not play first grade for Canberra.

In 2008 Lawrence captained Woden Valley Rams in the Canberra District Rugby League competition. 2009 saw Lawrence take on the role as Captain/Coach as he led the Rams to the preliminary finals, the teams highest placing in 10 seasons.

have they? 2002, i remember a massive bloke from Sydney randomly run into a hotel room wearing a chookies outfit 4 sizes too small blowing one of those rugby ref whistles and yelling carn chookies.

it was 3am. I think the club staying at the hotel was banned from ever making another booking with that particular chain.

either way, it wasn't a good omen this year

steve won't be happy but a brilliant game and 2 fantastic tries scored by Sydney. Sonny Bill was outstanding and only the 3rd time the man of the match has come from the losing side.

Saw the replay and although a few dud calls the Rooters deserved the win..... Manly should be proud of what they have done this season....What a club, what a side.
