Too much work !!
Goals scored is 'fairly well' recorded year by year, number of games...not sure who (if anyone ) might keep/have kept a record of those.
Then you have Saturday v Sunday debates.
Plus, there would be very few that would have witnessed tho 49 seasons of SAASL.
Probably would have to do it by decades...1965-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1989, 1990-1999, 2000-2009, 2010-2013...

Not stumped, (but I have been many times before....once playing for Northern Districts C-Grade Cricket Team) just the topic is very open ended, I'm flu'd up to the eyeballs and unmotivated.
PS - Didn't realise why it was directed at me :D
All I really have is old Yearbooks, some old photos and a little of my own memories.
Most questions people ask can be answered looking in the front pages of the latest Yearbooks.

i've always wondered who has played the most games , would be interested to see if the league can take on the process of finding out these historical facts...

Would require having kept game sheets for 49 years or so...I'm led to believe that many were disposed of when the league moved from Port Road to Grange.
If they did still exist then someone would have to retrospectively enter the raw data into a spreadsheet or database...would be a big job
PS - Anyone from the 1977 era happen to know who might have been Sunday Division 1 Top Goalscorer ?
(Findon were top with 58 goals, 12 ahead of Madison Park...my feeling is Alby Soang might have won it again that year)

But like I said, I'm not sure they still have all the information anymore !
With next year being the SAASL's 50th year Clubs should start organising a summary of their own histories.
In 2004 the Yearbook contained histories of many of the Clubs, 10 years on things will have changed.
Things of interest might be Club Players of the Year, Coaches, Committee Members, Leading Goalscorers and Life Members..

INTERESTING LOOKING THROUGH THOSE PLAYER STATS SWANNSONG IN THE 7 LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS THE GARDENS HAVE WON,
WE HAVE ONLY EVER HAD 1 GOLDEN BOOT IN 1973. WE HAVE HAD 5 LEAST GOALS SCORED AGAINST 1975,2002,2010,2011,2013 & ONLY 2 PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS IN 2010,2011.
LOOKING THROUGH HISTORY & TO STATE THE OBVIOUS IT'S THE KEEPERS & LEAST GOALS SCORED AGAINST THAT WINS DIV.1 LEAGUES...

SAASL DIV.1 CHAMPIONS 73,75,78,02,10,11,13
CHALLENGE CUP WINNERS 74,75,80,08,10,11,13
SAASL DIV.1 RES. CHAMPIONS 71,75,77,78,79,94,11,13

WHO WAS THE LAST DEFENDER TO WIN PLAYER OF THE YEAR?
HAS A KEEPER EVER WON IT ? YOU WOULDV'E THOUGHT TISSY SIMEONI IN 1989 WITH ONLY 3 AGAINST FOR THE YEAR WOULDV'E WON IT
IF EVER A KEEPER WAS GOING TOO???
I'M TIPPING THERE WOULDN'T BE TOO MANY IF ANY, WHICH IS CRAZY WHEN ITS KEEPERS & DEFENCES THAT WINS DIV.1 LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS???
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BROWNLOW....

Think Andrew Thompson (Downs) might have been a defender when he won it and Ray (or was it Roy) Sara (Rostrevor) and Chris Ennis (Ingle Farm).
In 1970 Bolla Hasbollah won the B&F as goalkeeper for West Beach.

Unfortunately Reserves have been neglected over the years in terms of B&F and goalscorers (now still only the Division Top Reserves GS is listed in the yearbooks).
As for other Divisions...this could go on forever :)

(Findon were top with 58 goals, 12 ahead of Madison Park...my feeling is Alby Soang might have won it again that year)
I will ask him and see if he has any documents from that year
He said he was runner up in 1977 and Jock Coull was leading goal scorer
