Re: Answers please?
i have been led to believe that govt gives money to the league to set up these er clubs and i just suppose it must be a good quid for the league to put up with them on the basis that other clubs would not be permitted to get away with what they get up to. ok

No not ok, you in fact criticise the league without any facts.
Now you may be right but it would pay to have the facts.

Im not defending the indefencable. You're the one naming SAASL Committee Members accusing them of turning a blind eye to such behaviour as a result of funding they receive from Government.THE ORAKLE wrote:have you got the facts paleon. how can you defend the indefenceable. they cause trouble and they get away with it. all i ask is why them and not the rest of the normal clubs in the league who would be jumped on if they tried to push the envelope like they do. that is all i ask.?????????????????????????????ok.
I simply asked what money do they receive? And you don't know.
All Im saying is get your facts.
And I agree violence, cheating etc should be stamped out regardless of he ethnicity of the club at all levels and in any sport.

no paleon i dont know, i can only assume that money, paid to the league is the reason these teams are here in the first place and that same money would have to be a substantial amount for the league officials to turn a blind eye to the problems they create. money creates its own problems, the lack of it creates even more stress in all walks of life. the root of all evil the saying goes and no one can get by without it and quite clearly the league is no exception.all iam saying is that these people have a history of trouble in their short time in the league which seems to go unpunished and uncensured and all iam asking IS WHY.Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:Im not defending the indefencable. simple. the league would hand down their judgement. be sure their justice would be swift, as it would be for all the other usualy law abiding clubs in the league.bloodypassit wrote:so if your club broke a law .. what penalties should apply???THE ORAKLE wrote:have you got the facts paleon. how can you defend the indefenceable. they cause trouble and they get away with it. all i ask is why them and not the rest of the normal clubs in the league who would be jumped on if they tried to push the envelope like they do. that is all i ask.?????????????????????????????ok.

oh if only it was that simple sepiroth. part of my personal pleasure nowadays is going to games and catching up with old friends and old foes from my playing days and having a drink or two. poms jocks greeks italians croats etc etc, good guys all. one of them built my house. like me these guys came over here to become australians and got jobs a roof over their heads brought up their kids and embraced australian laws and culture. unfortunately,by and large, these people do not. not all im sure but we only seem to hear about the ones with chips on both shoulders who think assimulation and multiculturism are signs of weakness. the big problem is that govts keep proving to them that they are right to think that way.

and you dont have an opinion either seemingly. by only responding to the fraction of my post that suited you then you become part of the problem in a way. also thank you steve for reminding people what a debating forum is all about, which is,your democratic right to have an opinion and air it. ps this wonderful concept was given to the world by the ancient greeks and we all should be eternaly gratefull to them as this was the very start of democracy as we know it today. we all must cherish it for as long as we can because if people who still have some power left dont stop sitting on their hands it will all be taken away from us. i do worry about this,i cannot help it,does anybody else.Green Grass Rovers wrote:Then you don't have an argument.THE ORAKLE wrote:i dont know, i can only assume

You should also be wary of being defamatory in what you post.
Regardless Orakle you raise some good points.
The issue is as I see it a group of clubs that cause trouble but keep on reforming and being accepted into the League. How do you propse you change it Orakle? I think constitutional change is required.

Re: Answers please?
Orakle, the "new arrivals" have always been subjected to ridicule when they first get here. The "wogs, polacks, spicks" etc were all looked upon as second class citizens. It took TIME, but as you have agreed majority have assimilated, and embraced the Australian way and worked hard and reaped rewards in life.
New arrivals today are no different and need to be given TIME to get used to the way things are done here. They dont HAVE to change EVERYTHING about their culture as I'm sure all previous new Australians to some degree still like aspects of their old traditions.
Eventually the dregs get weeded out - we still have laws here.
I guess if you had to flee or felt you had no choice other than to flee your own country to save your family, you cant expect a 100% "conversion" in an instant. Ask yourself if you could do it if faced with similar.
Given time, I bet you'll find these "pesky" Arabs and Africans will be just like any other Aussies, especially when the next generation have the opportunity to thrive.

Adelaide is a great place to live because of this...The food and different European culture I have experienced since moving here has been fantastic. Certainly never really experienced it in Brisbane. Hopefully the Muslim immigrants will add to the experience down the track like the Europeans/Asians have.Bomber wrote:Orakle, the "new arrivals" have always been subjected to ridicule when they first get here. and let me guess post WW2 you were saying the Italians/Greeks/Polish etc would take over the country , then during the 70/80's you were panicking that the Asians would out number the population .... Both times you were wrong ....
So in the new century we have Middle Eastern and African residents.. many leaving their home land due to chance of a better life.
But let me guess Orackle you would say there is no crime or violence by White Australians in your southern area????

This thread was "I think"' to try to reduce violence & cheating at SAASL level, whoever is responsible. :? Just play to SAASL rules & don't try to impose your own rules & then all can enjoy our great game.
Re: Answers please?
as ive said many times, we dont care who they are or where they are from, if you play unreg players, cheat, fix, dont play by the rules etc...
then ffs you should be penalised...
thats all, we dont expect mountains to be moved... just consistency.....
