W League
After last nights first training session was alittle shocked at some players, Ross did state he wanted no unfit or overweight players counted a handful already - lets hope Ross knows wot hes doing and not just a talker a few more trainings this week lets hope it gets better.

Re: W League
Hey gunners01-
You've just recently joined (or rejoined) the forum (?), and you were apparently at the first WLeague training, it would seem by your post. You have called out some of the players for being unfit, or at the very minimum RA for choosing unfit players.
I would say that if you have a daughter in the team (why else would you have been out there- and if you weren't out there how would you know anything) that you stop posting stuff like that on the forum, because it's not helpful to anyone- the squad or your daughter. Give them a chance to come together as a squad, and perhaps play a game first before you start being negative on a public forum.
They need support. Sometimes that means keeping your mouth (keyboard) shut.

Re: W League
Very nice. If I have upset any parents with my comments on this forum I apologize- they are welcome to approach me in person and we can resolve it. My identity is well known by most on here, including you it seems, hiding behind a new screen name. Happy to have a chat with you as we'll, whoever you are, if you care to.
Re: W League
Spot on Gunners. As much as I beleiev Ross is the right appointment, we cannot hide from the fact that we are trying to cobble together a state rep side from local talents that (pardon the bluntness) is not up to scratch....and these are players that have just finished their local season. To think that they are of poeak conditioning is absurd. As I have said previously getting a team to play in a national comp requires year round development. Although you haven't said it, Keeping head in the sand and HOPING for a mriacle is absurd juniorsupporter.

Re: W League
it always seems to me that junior supporter does know a bit of what is happening with the FFSA... her posts are normally quite well informed, and if people don't like the facts then its nobody's issue but their own.gunners01 wrote:As i recall junior supporter u seem 2 upset most people -parents on the soccer front with your negative comments oh and yes up DE ass and GH
At least she doesn't come on as a new forumite and start slamming local players without giving the new coach and squad a chance to even attempt to come together!
Yes there are some players out there that I'm not sure of, but everyone thats there has worked damn hard for their spot and deserve the benefit of the doubt. At least wait until the final squad has been whittled out before condemning the season ahead.
Re: W League
Maybe just use initials gunners that's how you normally work
"Just ask yourself, have you hugged your goalkeeper today?"

Re: W League
Sad gal,
I don't have my head in the sand. But I also don't think that calling the players out on their fitness on a public forum before the season has even started does any good. In fact I think it undermines the efforts of all involved. But that will be the last I have to say about this thread. I am sure that gunners will be happy to hear it. Wouldn't want to anger many parents.

There is a difference between being honest and being negative.gunners01 wrote:This forum is about honesty I haven't mentioned anyone names if u don't like it don't read it and maybe take yr own advice (shut-up) the keyboard I mean.

It's a big problem in women's football in general in Australia. Even the Matilda's carry some heavy girls. Nothing personal to any players. Irrespective of whether or not they get paid, they are athletes and should carry themselves as one. Late night drinking binges and hungry jacks check ins are completely inappropriate .. And anyone who personally knows these players will tell you this is exactly what goes on

Re: W League
Forget the bickering and accusations about what players do or don't do, lets start focusing on the fact that here we are around 18 days from the start of the league again and no announcements regarding a team list yet. I like everyone else on here hopes the lady reds and Ross do well but gees how can this happen with no team. Clubs normally do around 8 weeks training as a team to get ready for the season and were expected to think these girls will be ready in 3 weeks or so. This to gel as a team learn the ways of a new coach and put the results on the board. A joke.
Re: W League
Where do you get 18 days from...the first game is on November the 10th...still at least 40 days away...

Sorry I stand corrected then its not 3 weeks its 5 weeks still not enough time to announce the team train and be ready when other teams are already training.

Re: W League
Have they picked the finished team and training 4 times a week or still as a mass group trying to make the finished squad. This team should be picked, training and playing trial games as a team by now.
Re: W League
Perth only started training this week...
of course Brisbane Sydney and Canberra have already named their squads as they dont change that much and they dont really need to hold trials...
I am holding judgement until the first game.. As always tho Im hoping for the best and wether they win or lose as with every year I will be their supporting no matter what..

Re: W League
With the release of player profiles yesterday and today has the team has the final squad been selected/named anywhere?
