Where did they all go.......?
The usually outspoken Liverpool and Man U fans all seem to have disappeared........
Re: Where did they all go.......?
Lest have our own discussion, without them...........
We all know that United fans / board are not expecting Moyes to be at the same level as Fergie to begin with, however he is a big boy and has taken over the English champions, so no real excuses.
What do you think it would take for him to get sacked?
Not making Champions league? Not winning a trophy? Perhaps being outside the top four come xmas?
I would be interested to know how lenient the board intend to be with him and how patient they are prepared to be if these situations arise........
In saying all of this, United could go on and take out 2 or 3 trophies, but cant see it.

Ahhhh the age old self appointed consolations for a fan of a rubbish team. A cozy, delusional blanket to keep ya warm through all those unsuccessful seasons. "atleast we're true fans" is it?God is an Englishman wrote:they probably all just moved onto their next club.

No not really, because he is a supporter of a club that actually means something to him not just "lets look whose top and support them mentality" fan. If he was a fan he would just move on and become a fan of another team. Just like me I will follow Sunderland even if they are going through a crisis at the moment and even if they've been a bit of a yo-yo team over the years because that's were I was born and that's the team I have supported all my life. You just don't get it.carntyne square wrote:Ahhhh the age old self appointed consolations for a fan of a rubbish team. They'll never get it and you actually have to feel sorry for them for that. They'll never feel that emotional tie.

This does fall in line with how well Napoli are doing.

Millwall won their last game, how did man u get one?
Re: Where did they all go.......?
The majority of people on here never will get it. Ive grown tired of trying to explain it to the plastic supporters.

Re: Where did they all go.......?
Very inspirational words and I'm almost positive through no intention of your own, you just proved my point. You guys truly feel that you are better "supporters' of your respective clubs because they have been mediocre at best. Ofcourse you do. Like earlier stated It's a consolation a lot of supporters self impose to get them through the tough times. It doesn't make you less of a supporter if ya team is consistently successful.just a happier one. The spiritual and mental connection is still there. I guess you guys don't want to accept that as it would take away that consolation you all like to use to get ya through the mediocrity and failures. we get it. Trust me we get it.Mackem Lad wrote:No not really, because he is a supporter of a club that actually means something to him not just "lets look whose top and support them mentality" fan. Re: Where did they all go.......?
I don't think that is the attitude being shown here, it's more of an emotional connection with a team that you can not and do not choose. It is very easy for someone to come along (even as a kid who is born or has parents that follow a certain team) and say "nah I prefer to support these guys instead". That lack of emotional attachment is the same one that can be shown down the years when they decide....... "Had enough of them, I like this lot now" or "yeah, I like these guys too".carntyne square wrote:

What these two are saying is that it's not the trophies or success or even the banter with other faithfuls of their respective teams that spurs them to turn the tele on and watch their side get beat. It's the fact that at the end of the day they can truly say that "their" teams have a special connection that cannot be shared by everyone, a connection that you can't buy from a club store or create by going to a game.
Something that some people......... Just don't get.

You clearly still dont get it. Its not about whether their team is League one or in the Prem. They have a true connection to that club.
Im going to have to go down this path once again..........You will never ever understand the real connection between really supporting a team and just randomly picking a team and following them throughout life. Myself and others on here, grew up or are from where our teams are based, going to games was a natural part of our life.
The fact that most on here have never even been to the country of their so called team is laughable. I have an Australian friend who supports Liverpool and has done all his life, his close family are from there and he makes the effort when he can, to visit England just to go watch his team. May not happen very often, but he still makes the effort.
Everyone else is just a follower.

Re: Where did they all go.......?
Agreed.my point is that belittling or questioning ones connection to a team just because they have experienced more success than your own is a desperate straw to clutch to. Why can't Liverpool or man u supporters have the same connection you just explained? It's like telling a bloke he's never truly experienced love because his Mrs is better looking than your own. A very flawed argument I feel.Outlaw 2.0 wrote:I don't think that is the attitude being shown here, it's more of an emotional connection with a team that you can not and do not choose. Just a lot of assumptions being made here. I'd like to think I have a small grasp on the concept of the club picking me and not vice versa.

I don't get it? How dumb do you think people are?
How can we not get it? You try and shove it down our throats at every opportunity... Jog on, no one cares.

Some....... Can't
Not quite, it shouldn't be relative to the amount of success or attractiveness of the female. More relative to the way she was chosen. It would be more like the emotional connections between a child and his/her birth parents in comparison with the connection between an adopted child and their foster parents. The two kids have love for their parents however the connection that the birth child feels cannot be found in the adopted situation. That being said adopted child can still have just as much of an emotional attachment to their foster parents as the birth child.carntyne square wrote: It's like telling a bloke he's never truly experienced love because his Mrs is better looking than your own. That is as in depth with analogies I want to go before someone gets hurt........
