SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
Superb three points at Home last night for us.
Game ebbed and flowed in the first half, heaps of little fouls by both teams, Napoli scored a great header - Higuain (Cavani who..) is the pure Number 9, classic poacher. He was outstanding, Weidenfeller then sent off, no questions or complaints, handball outside the area to allow Aussie GK Langerak to play half a game and now probably the next one as well.
Second half all Napoli with the local boy and Wunderkind Insigne scoring an absolutely magic FK, nothing Langerak could do, all Napoli until the last 5 mins when an own goal was followed by a few minutes of pressure, but all in all well deserved victory.
if we can get 9 points at home we will go close to going through.
Insigne and Higuain outstanding, Hamsik quiet but someone else has to step up and do the job instead of him for a change. Inler was allowed to dictate the tempo with the extra man.
FORZA RAGAZZI

Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
insigne is a freak. there will be some HUGE bids for him in the next year or so, even less.
Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
Yet to see any of this game, despite being at home, still a very good result for Napoli.
This is going to be a very tight group.

Already was from Sunderland - 8 million or something rubbish.
he is born and bred in the City and came up thru the youth system. Certainly wont be an Italian club if he did move.

8 million isn't huge in comparison to a lot of recent deals, i mean upwards of 20.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Already was from Sunderland - 8 million or something rubbish.

Reportedly this cost Langerak a couple of teeth.

Great Free Kick from the little master.
Mitch didnt look to happy after colliding with the goal post
however, my pick of the night; Klopp spitting the dummy at the 4th official!

Was channel-surfing between this game and Arsenal's and just caught Insigne's free-kick. What a beauty! Luckily Langerak didn't sustain a serious head injury against the post diving to save that one although he did lose his two front teeth. Very brave to continue on and make some good saves with his side down to 10 men.bubu wrote:getborn wrote:Reportedly this cost Langerak a couple of teeth.

The Socceroo deputy should be able to start as goalie in the game versus Marseilles.
The next Group F game with table-toppers Arsenal & Napoli @ the Emirates on 1/10/13 should be a ripper.
Arsenal 6 victories in a row since the Villa hiccup. Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey & Ozil a fluid, creative midfield with Cazorla, Rosicky & Arteta eventually pushing for selection too.

Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
Fantastic result by Napoli against a quality side.
I didn't realise both Napoli goals were against 10 men.
For those who saw the game was Klopp justified to be complaining about not getting his player back on the park?
In a HL's package I saw it was mentioned that Klopp seemed to think it should of been a goal kick and that he wanted his player back on the park before the corner could be taken.
Any truth or was his rant unjustified? He really did lose it
Do these do him justice
.
That footage of his rant, then his apology as well as Insigne's free were great highlights for a neutral like myself.

Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
I think Klopp was angry because his player had just received treatment for a cut above the eye, was allowed back onto the pitch (presumably by the 4th official), then told to leave the pitch again by the referee who wasn't satisfied with the bandaging. When he was off for the second time is when Napoli scored. That would pisss me off as a coach too

Certainly did bubu. Always admired that passion for the game at Neapoli. But can't help but wonder how much greater that atmosphere would have been if it was in a rectangular stadium like Juventus' new one or like the San Siro...

Neapoli????
the reason is simple, this current stadium is for the safety of the travelling fans and players!
Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
Neapoli (meaning new city) was what the Greeks named the city when it was first colonised.
Don't forget that...
IMO Klopp should be banned for the rest of the grop stages for that hissy fit.
I admit I've had digs are refs in the past, but I'm struggling to think of a Sport where officials are less respected than in Football.

Baggio, the first goal came against 11 men in the 29th Minute, send off was after 45.

against 10, against 11, players off injured, whatever the scenario, Napoli outplayed Dortmund simple as that
big big statement this match was. not only the result but how we played as well.
I don't think we're the surprise anymore for the people that know.

Actually if you go back and watch properly, Subotic is on the ground when the goal is scored.BAGGIO 15 wrote:1 player was off receiving treatment.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Baggio, the first goal came against 11 men in the 29th Minute, send off was after 45.

Impressed by Napoli - that was their first true test of the season and they came through quite well.

Watch the replay carefully. Subotic (Number 4), sprints back onto the pitch and is tightly marking Britos before the cross even comes in, then it sails over both Britos and Subotic to a poorly marked Higuain.BAGGIO 15 wrote: 1 player was off receiving treatment.

Klopp was unfairly dealt with, had complete control of his emotions.
Napoli shouldn't have been allowed to take the corner quickly, laws of the game state you must wait for all the opposition to indicate they are ready to recommence.
Insigne's free kick was a fluke.
Your a neutral my arse.

Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
I thought that the first goal was a little harsh on Dortmund, their defence wasn't set up to defend the corner as Subotic was still running into the box as the ball was played.

Re: SSC Napoli vs BVB 09
Subotic was actually in the box and missed the ball (went over his head) when first goal was scored. So dont know what everyone is complaining about.
Watch the game before commenting.
You actually see him sprinting from the sideline and gets into position when the ball was crossed in

You wouldn't be taking a stab at Baggio would you. I'm pretty sure he was asking the question of people who watched the game in full, whether or not Klopps rant was justified, he also mentioned that it was the comments of the HL package that said that Klopp wanted the player on before the cross.getborn wrote:I thought Napoli's goals were against 9, not 10, let alone 11.BAGGIO 15 wrote:Fantastic result by Napoli against a quality side.

I cant read anywhere in his post that indicates he believes a team should wait to take a set piece until the other team is ready or that Insignes goal was nothing short of brilliant. Maybe you are being a little bit precious.
Great win for Napoli regardless of the circumstances, just a shame that Juve didn't have their shooting boots on, otherwise would have been an even better first round for the Italian teams.

either way, it was a great result not only for Napoli, but for Serie A in general.
