Raptors v Adelaide Young Stars
While on the subject of the Amateur League being a joke, thought I would share this:
We were supposed to play AYS 2 months ago, however the League rang us during that week stating AYS were "unfinancial"!? and the game postponed...
We then re-scheduled this game on a cup weekend a month or so later... as you can guess we received a phone call that week again stating they were "unfinancial"...
At this point we are thinking the league just doesnt want this game to go ahead as AYS have been playing all there other fixtures in between.... so this game is re-scheduled to the week after the season (ie. this weekend)...
Fast forward to last weekend, Plympton due to play AYS, massive game as AYS are 2 points above Plympton who are in relegation.... the game gets cancelled due to the same circumstances ("unfinancial"), the League just gives Plympton a 2-0 win and the points!?
So now we are thinking:
1. Why did Plympton get the points automatically while we have been forced to postpone and re-schedule this fixture twice? Where is the cosistency, the game was cancelled under the same circumstances.
2. Are AYS still unfinancial?? Is this game this week still on??? No word from the league meaning our teams dont know if we are training this week or season over... absolute shambles.
This game will decide a relegation spot, if Raptors win Plympton stay up and AYS relegated... I would think Plympton would have a huge interest as to whether this game will be played, especially considering precedent indicates being "unfinancial" should result in a forfeit, not a postponement.
Any Plympton guys have an opinion.... absolute joke this is...

Re: Raptors v Adelaide Young Stars
AYS could recruit some of their inform Ghan United friends for the game
Re: Raptors v Adelaide Young Stars
Make sure you do a card check.
You guys could do same match fixing with this game if you get to play and let AYS stay up lol
If you get to play and win, Raptors will end up in 3rd spot. Good luck!

with The Beograd situation 3 teams might go up from each lower div after all...Crazylegs wrote:Make sure you do a card check.

I hear Blue Nile's 'keeper has come off the back of a great weekend... Considering he "played two games", he's seen plenty of the ball.bloodypassit wrote:AYS could recruit some of their inform Ghan United friends for the game

How does a club become 'unfinancial'? Where in the rules and regulations of the SAASL does it explain the term, 'unfinancial' and what constitutes this? Oh, hang on... There are a lack of rules. Could this be tabled at the AGM? Getting a fair and consistent basis for everyone to play on?
As I understand, all players who are eligible for games have had their registration money paid - and entry to the league relies on all moneys being paid (in any organisation I have been involved in, payment first, goods/services/right to play in the league second).
So I'm assuming the bookkeepers down on Military Road haven't kept an eye on this?

The entry fee for each team is billed and sent to clubs to be paid by 'XX' date. Then a reminder notice is sent if the date is missed and the league works with the club to get an outcome they can both be happy with. If they are getting no where and the league has had enough, they become un-financial in the eyes of the league and suspended. Pretty straight forward
If a club misses the initial date but then works out a payment plan they will still be considered financial. I have been with a club in this situation before.

this is why SAASL should pay a CEO / GM to run the league......makes him accountable.

Still seems unfair that their financial situation should have an impact on clubs that seemingly do the right thing, yet are inconvenienced and stuffed around.

- Totally agree there. Especially if 2 teams are having 2 different rulings from the league for the same thing

Re: Raptors v Adelaide Young Stars
if either of these fixtures need to be played vs Young stars it should be the plympton game.
as it stands now we (raptors) are playing to try and save plympton from the drop, wouldn't plympton prefer to play for their own survival?
we also had two guys go in for leg operations this week from sundays game so not the best time to play....

I hope this never happens as CEO's are only interested in themselves & how much they can make.

Hate to burst anyone's bubble but if they are deemed unfinancial would they be allowed in next year? If not and 2 go down.....Crazylegs wrote:That's good news for you guys and For Plympton. As they finished in 9th in div3 this year they will go down. So then next year they are in Div 4 then if they are still deemed unfinancial they will be out and only 9 teams remain in Div 4I am Costanza wrote:Hate to burst anyone's bubble but if they are deemed unfinancial would they be allowed in next year? Re: Raptors v Adelaide Young Stars
so after the inconsistent season the Raptors A's had, we now finish in third spot - just one win off promotion.
if only a couple of those early/mid season results had gone the other way, we could be back in div 2
but the b's had a breakthrough year to claim the clubs first ever As/Bs championship - congrats to Steve and the boys on a great year

Your B's dominated this year well deserved to win the title. By far the best side bar none we played against, no one came close. Congratulations
