That's beyond bizarre, in Division 2 best team won in A's and B's I'm sure it's the same in most if not all leagues, saying that's the score etc is just weirdThe Budapestian wrote:If that's the score that's the score! I wouldn't care mate, because as bizzare as the score sounds it was clearly a tactical one! And if given the chance I would do the same...and every club would and you all know it, If your rival club relied on you winning your last match, Im sure you would go out with the mid set not winning!...PASC wrote:hope it never hapens to you mate....The Budapestian wrote:If that's the score that's the score! We (Athelstone) couldn't manage a full 11 in the reserves and then a few players doubled up for the A's... and there is also the issue of our occasional defensive meltdowns throughout the season. Polonia beat us fair and square in that one.Steve Marriott wrote:And Polonia's 14-1 against Athlestone in Round 17 looks a bit dodgy as well, considering Athelstone had conceded no more than 6 in any game prior to that.
My sympathies for Polonia; Anyone playing in Div 4 saw the antics that Blue Nile (with their Fed players) and Ghan (fingers up the bum and some nasty tackles) pulled throughout the season and would have no doubt that an agreement was struck. The only positive if the result sticks is that we only have to play one of these teams in Div 4 next season.

I too sympathies with all the teams that have had to put up with all this carry on with a few of these teams.ManicD wrote:We (Athelstone) couldn't manage a full 11 in the reserves and then a few players doubled up for the A's... and there is also the issue of our occasional defensive meltdowns throughout the season. There should be NO tolerance from the league, for the actions of these teams. Sounds like 1 team just keep popping up under a new name & the League doesn't batter a eye lid. Quiet happy to take the money , but when tough decisions need to be made from the League , they seemed to be wanting.
Yes I know these are Amateur Leagues & it's voluntary,bla, bla bla, but enough is enough . There needs to be decisions made by the league swiftly to stop these teams making a mockery of the game, & sport we all enjoy.
Why should there be different rules for others. If half of this sort of carry on happened in the higher divisions there would be hell to pay, with consequences.
This type of shit ain't going away until the Officials grow some balls & short these "divs" out.

Both teams have not “Promoted and encouraged positive behaviour”
Both teams have not “Played within the rules and spirit of the game”
both teams have not “Conducted themselves within the rules and spirit of the game”
Further to this, I wish to reference another document which is present on the league's website (FFA Football Code of Conduct). I make special inference to the following;
3. Betting, Match-fixing and Corruption
3.1 A member must not engage, directly or indirectly in;
b. the throwing or fixing of a Match; or
c. any conduct or behaviour intended to unfairly affect the result of a Match... or influence the outcome of a Match so as to bring about a result other than that which would be achieved in a fair contest between the competing teams.

In the head to head they were. Overall... who knows what would have happened had Seaford played them. They could have dropped points, but by the same token won by a bigger margin than the forfeit result.The Budapestian wrote:They were better
