Do ManU really want Bale or are they trying to force Madrids hand on a deal for CR7, knowing Madrid need the funds to finalise the Bale transfer.. :?:

Weird one. I'm not sure they'd really want to spend the amount of money that it'd take to purchase either Bale or CR7.

NOC don't embarrass yourself, we will beat you this weekend and you will look silly. You may have spent over 100 mill but you are still sh$t with a sh$t manager

Possibly, as new signings always take time to gel, but I don't know many Gooners that are happy with the way their club is going. Meanwhile, Spurs go from strength to strength. :D

Could have got him for the start of the season at 4 million quid cheaper. Makes perfect sense.

Should have signed Duncan Ferguson also.

My biggest surprise is that Cabaye hasn't gone anywhere. Surely he's good enough to play for someone better than Newcastle?

He is, but where is he going to get a game EVERY week, rather than just off the bench and start in cup games?

A bigger club, like Hull.

Wow, I thought Andy Carroll was overpriced, but Mesut Ozil takes rorting to a new level. £43m for a decent, but nothing fantastic player is gross overpayment and Real Madrid must be laughing their socks off.

That's what happens when you leave everything to the last minute trolley dash.

You can't put Carroll and Ozil in the same sentence. Harsh.

How much would you have paid for Ozil?

No more than 30, they overpaid because they left it to the last minute and could afford to.

30 is about what Spurs paid for Lamela and Ozil is a clear class above Lamela.
Luxury signing more than anything, he’ll be a gun that’s for sure. But don’t reckon playmaker position was the biggest hole in their squad that needed addressing.

Time will tell, but I tend to disagree. For me, Ozil is a very good player playing in exceptionally good teams, where other players attract the majority of the defensive attention. Whether he can handle being the main man for Arsenal is yet to be seen, but I've yet to watch a game where he's wowed me. I thought Arshavin was a gun for about a month.

I don't really know much, nor seen a deal, of Lamela, so I can't really compare the two, but I'm glad Spurs got their business done before Bale's record transfer, as that always pushes prices up.

Ozil is quality. But like Kop said, the gaps are still very evident in Arsenal's first XI. They've signed a quality player, which has appeased Arsenal supporters, but an attacking midfielder isn't what they needed.

As I said, considerably easier to look good when you're surrounded by stars. That ain't gonna be the case at the Emirates.

I think you understate him. Cazorla isn't as good, but i think he still looks great when he plays.

We'll see i guess.

also
Giroud/podolski
Cazorla----ozil-----walcott

arteta------------wilshere

There are some decent players around him if you ask me

NOCs dislike for Arsenal is making him look real silly here. Kop already handed him a knockout with his Lamela comparison.

I honestly don't think Man Utd was ever in the market for a CAM because of the Rooney situation. RVP already took his favoured spot, imagine if he had competition for his current position? Hopefully Rooney has a good season.

 hahaha NOC are you serious about Ozil?! That signing alone p1sses all over Tottenhams signings, class above all of them. I agree with some comments that there are certainly still gaps in certain areas but if Arsenals defence can step up then team looks good. Midfield looks great and goals can come from all over the park (something Tottenham clearly lack)

It may just be one player but his stature alone will make our youngsters even more confident.

Nothing but jealousy oozing from your posts :P
