Out ran a cougars team however I think it should be noted that from what I saw the cougar sweeper was withdrawn from the game within 15 min and followed by the striker 10 min later due to injuries this surely had an impact on the game !!!!! Jets your banter did in fact get to the young cougar Keeper but melt down I'm not overly convinced he did in fact pull off some amazing saves in the second half ..... Cougars had many chances however did not put them away jets in turn put away their chances, hence deserved the win
he did get some good saves in in the 2nd half but punching the post, having to be comforted by the ref and one of your B's players having to stand behind the goal with him, shouting and swearing at the Jets crowd.
Then had a cry that the photographer was too close to him.
The followed by one of the cougars blokes pretending to be held back from crossing the pitch to have a go. All in all a fun day.
I have it as all 4 teams have promotion in their own hands.
vipers need a point for promotion, a win for the title.
cougars need to win by 3 goals to get promoted at the weekend
Jets need to win and results go our way to get promoted this weekend, but then the catch up kicks in.
Stirling can't get promoted this weekend but have 2 catch up games in which to earn it,
Great end to the season.
OK back track, if cougars win this weekend, then Stirling cannot be promoted.

What a fantastic end to the season....
Are you guys playing your catch up this week or are you leaving us all hanging for another week.

At this stage, I can't answer that as I don't know. Stirling have 2 catch up games to organise though so we obviously will have to work around them.

Hope it is played this week for all our sakes....If not the boys just need to make sure we beat Cougars then it won't really matter when it is played....That's easier said then done though after copping a loss at your place.

I say be more direct and try to play through them.

I'm certainly not speaking on behalf of the club here but at this stage I know nothing about a game this week. As such I don't think it will be played. After all it's Monday now, when is their time to get arrangements in place?
Certainly not fair on either side to be made to play at such short notice.

I think it will only be fair if both teams settle for a draw

Great call I predict Findon High being under water around Friday evening.
I really don't see the big deal here. All teams know what they need to do. Both teams in that game are playing for their season, an outstanding result isn't going to change that.
Steve#4 wrote:Home and away season should be decided and finished by the date set at the start...My opinion only.
In an ideal world I agree, but I just don't see it as that big a deal. Clearly in this case it can't happen as stirling surely can't be made to play 3 games in 5 days.

Only an Englishman who has benefited from the weather in recent months wouldn't have a problem with this situation
To be fair, it's not as if the clubs had this game postponed on Saturday - it has been outstanding for ages, the club even arranged a club function on the cup weekend, and if they were forced to play this week can they really complain?

How have I benefitted from the weather?
Club function was organised as soon as both teams had exited the competition and before any games were postponed.
Yes, we could and I believe we would complain if we were given such a short amount of notice to play a game. Are you going to make stirling play Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday?
If you want to change the rules then lobby the SAASL.
I'd suggest something like this:-
If any league match is postponed then:
a) if it is a final round match or a penultimate round match, then within 7 days as determined by the league; otherwise
b) if both teams have been eliminated from the cup, then on the next scheduled cup date if there is one (except the cup final) on which neither club already has a league match rescheduled; otherwise
c) at a date, time and location within 14 dates of the postponement, as agreed by both clubs and advised to the league within 4 days of the postponement; otherwise
d) at a date, time and location within 14 days of the postponement, as determined by the league and advised to the clubs within 7 days of the postponement.
There are of course loop holes, but they could be addressed, and this would give some clarity.

The way it is now, if we beat Vipers by less than 3 goals, Modbury beats Pumas, Stirling are out of contention for promotion...
So, the catch up game between Stirling v Modbury will most probably be a no contest..
Modbury needs to win for promotion and championship, Stirling nothing...
Disappointing... Not laying the blame on any club, the league is to blame.

The rules are the rules. It's always been this way.
Funny how people complain when it impacts their club, but don't care one way or another when it doesn't.
Even the whingers just do nothing once the season is over.
If you're bothered enough, have your club propose something at the league AGM and lobby hard on here beforehand.

My opinion: we are not professionals, it's just a little amateur competition and I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill. Bottom line, 3 teams know what they have to do on saturday. Concentrate on winning you can control, not what you can't.

Hardly think people are whinging or complaining, just offering an opinion on how it has been handled. In saying that the last cup round should have had a game played, no two ways about it.
Hawkesy, if its a "little old amatuer league", hand the victory over to the Pumas on Saturday, then I'll stop whingeing
Means more than that to the Modbury folk mate. Im sure they'd, including yourself would be saying exactly the same thing if you were in our position, and rightly so. As for the Stirling folk, they dont really care, as long as they make love to their cows.

Goes without saying that we want to win every single game, even when I coached Div 4 Reserves that was still the case.
Win your game and other results don't matter and that's why I don't see why such a big deal is being made.
