Great win by Arsenal, showed great spirit and was a decent game to watch.

Even with all that money the Spuds spent, they never looked dangerous and have yet to score a goal in open play.

Arsenal looking to tie up some deals in the next 24 hours, for some real class.....cant wait.

Tottenham is a weird one, a lot of quality but the dots just don't connect. A decent coach would probably help.

A bit of a worry that, but hopefully Erickson and Lamela will provide more creativity. They look strong, but a bit one dimensional at the moment and Dawson is STILL a carthorse, get Kaboul back in asap.

Overall, a good game to watch and, on chances, the Goons just about deserved the win. I think it's hard to integrate 5 or 6 new players that quickly (look at Chelsea and Man City in their first seasons with all the new players) so I'm not expecting too much before Christmas. Just hope we're not already out of it by then, but next year will be the real test for Spurs.

As for the Goons, obviously they'll panic buy today, then flog them off at a loss in a year's time.

Based on last nights display Tottenhams new signings dont look too flash.

Capoue (before getting injured) Could not keep up with the pace and looked slow and kept turning over possession

Paulinho - Looks ok but nothing special

Chadli - Probably the best of the new lads but again nothing spectacular

Soldado - Good player but was very quiet last night, seems he can only score penalty's

Looks like our thin depleted squad is still better than Tottenhams 100mill flops......Embarrassing really

Ps - Ramsay is finally showing his potential and bossed the midfield again.

It was too early to judge Arsenal after the opening day but yet you've made your mind up about these players after 1 or 2 games.
It only took Ramsay 3 years to resemble a midfielder and im willing to bet plenty that Paulinho & Eriksen wont take nearly as long.

I haven't watched the game yet so I can't make too big assumptions but we still need a few more weeks to gel as the line-up last night would have played together only once. The one benefit of signing only 2 new players Arsenal have had a fairly consistent line-up (similar to last year) and they would have been more cohesive. We still have Eriksen, Lamela and Chiriches to come in so I'm not too worried. To grind out 6 points from our first 3 games is a good effort considering we are still putting together our squad.

I think Lamela and Eriksen will provide the spark we've been lacking in our first few games, it's just a matter how long it will take them to get settled.

It's far too early to be judging that.

They've not played more than a few games together. Individually, they're all very good players. Whether they mesh well is another thing entirely.

I've been concerned that Ramsey would never hit his potential after his leg break, playing out of his skin but will have to see if he can maintain the form by the end of the year, given his 22 yrs and has suffered such a bad injury in his career would be great to see him become world class.

I think the spuds have spent well, some superb creative players think they can be very dangerous on the other side of christmas and onwards

Make no doubt about it, Spurs have spent well.

They may have lost their best player, but will take time for the new team to gel. Lamela and Eriksen will provide the creativity which Soldado will thrive upon. How long they will all take to gel and get settled, who knows. I think by the midpoint of the season they will have hit their stride.

They remind me a bit of Napoli in Serie A. Have lost their best player but have built a more competitive and deeper squad from it.

Watched the whole game live on Fox - a terrific match with great atmosphere and not quiet like a library as a forumite has suggested. Much better than the dull listless Man.U/Chelsea fare dished up a week before.

The usual Arsenal midfield flowing play by Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla & Rosicky created many chances which kept Lloris busy as Spurs' goalkeeper/sweeper.

And the Gunners defended well in the second half as Spurs came at them.

It will be good for the team to contemplate that win for a fortnight as there will now be a break for international games.
