Welcome to the one and only issue I have with the E&D , having coached for 4 years I am yet to receive more than a few days notice of the first game of the season. I understand they have a difficult job to do but the lack of info is frustrating.

btw they will post them on the website http://www.elizdists.com.au as soon as they habd them out at the monday meeting.

you will need to look up the "Any year fixture" and the 2007 leagues to work out who you are playing, they do not post the whole expanded list on the internet.

pm me if you need any help working it out.

Having done the program for another association, the problem usually lies with the clubs/schools adding and pulling teams up until the last minute due to numbers. In the end, the aim should be to have as many kids playing as possible, not to worry about inconveniencing a few short-sighted adults. As long as they know what date the season starts and the teams practice at least once a week, the coaches can let them know the week before the game. Of course, I think all associations are stretched for volunteers, so I assume football_lad will be putting his hand up because "is it really that hard??"

Thanks guys, yeah i know that they put it out on the website but apparently they have been having some problems with their website and email recently... as for taking on responsibilities with E&D... i dont think that will be happening mate, this is my 4th year coaching a junior team and i am just 18.. im also on the club committee and play for the senior team aswell.. i think taking on any responsibilities would put just a tad too much on my plate... Just thought that it would be an idea to try and get the fixtures out the week before the season starts so coaches can know for that weeks training and not have to make 15 phone calls later in the week!!!

The E&D use the same 6 8 10 12 structure every year (it is on the website) all they have to do is put the names of the teams in the boxes for 1 to 8 etc and send it out, not that hard really. Would take less than 2 hours for the whole competition. They do not do a "draw" and try to balance out ground utilsation or anything complicated at all.

As to the cutoff point for teams , they change everything during the first 3 weeks anyway so just getting one round done is not a challenge. I do not mind if they add a team or take one away , again they have been doing this after the season starts for the last 4 years.

I train monday nights only so when the parents ask me what is going on this sunday for round 1 , I will tell them I have no idea. It seems to me that this is not really acceptable.

Every other aspect of the E&D competition is great and I am proud to be a part of the competition.

Not quite sure what that is supposed to mean, but it doesn't seem like a compliment....

btw It is now Wednesday night and I got info from club today that my team has a bye in the 1st round , so no drama at all....

Website still not updated yet though....

oh well I have two more weeks to work it out.
