17 A+B Scenario, or Vise Versa

Post by Huddo #3 »

Can anyone give me a straight answer for this situation?

A player is in a 17's division two squad, and one weekend is called up to play for their 17's division one squad to fill in. If both matches are at home, is this player eligable to play in both matches? or what are the rules regarding?

Can't happen as all 17's matches are at the same time!

many 17's matches are scheduled for 12:00, due to two 17's matches being at the same ground.

so does anyone have the correct answer? or the official ruling on this?

I think its a case of eligibility. If a player is eligible to play U17 then he can be selected to play in both the 1st or 2nd team if Kick off times allow. Practically it may not be possible too often because both teams hardly play at home together and as Nova has pointed out U17 A and B divisions Kick off at the same time. A player may switch at half time if both teams are at home but the player would need to be listed on both team sheets. If the player is eligible, there should be no problem.

Bill

I spoke to Dimitri at FFSA after previous confusion on this site to get a definitive answer.

He said that it is definately only one game.

Cheers
