The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Game played on pitch 2 Tuesday, boys were out on pitch 3. Pitch 1 unused so probably not in as good shape as the other two, which seemed heavy but not horrible. Pretty dry today so should be ok I would think. Hopefully any postponement will happen early and not at or after scheduled ko (Fulham on Sunday). It's a long drive.

Sadly, cancelled due to weather.

We were nearing grand junction road, got the txt then saw about 5 cars hang a left
as we caught up saw they were all players heading back home.

Well its warm and dry here (home) now.

Made it all the way there
Enough water in the goal mouth on pitch one for the keeper to do laps.

Has anyone got the results from Fulham / Metro that was played last night at Burton?

14/15s beat Cumby 5-1

In ressies Olympic beat Cumby 3-1 I think it ended up.

Cumby again starting to play some good football, but the speed and fitness of the 14/15s, along with a bit too much time on the ball gave the 15s the chance to put some goals away.

Metro Fulham game was actually a much closer game than you might think. Was very close right up to the last 10 minutes. Fulham had a number of chances to get in front, but a combination of Kristi Harvey and the goalposts kept metro in the game so they could seal the win with a couple of late goals.
Return match on Sunday should be a cracker!

Metro applied a very physical approach to the second half to a very young side.

Watched both games, thout Cumby did well against a team playing at their peak
FFSA has had some big wins recently.
Metro & Fulham more interesting game to watch.
Fulham were right in it as someone said right to the last 10 min, GK for metro had a blinder.
Metro in 2 games I’ve seen against City & Uni have won well with passing and possession game but there passing was off in this game.
Fulham did very well but a sort a like a one trick act for scoring -through ball to the fast running no 18 I think it was.
Metro seem to finish the game at the same speed and intensity they started at

As for physical seemed an even contest all game but maybe it was a bit more physical in 2nd half but didn't notice IMO although I did note Metro dominate defender wasn't playing and seen her in a moon boot thing so big loss for Metro and big gain for City in the Cup

Fulham were restricted somewhat by the unavailability of Izzy Hodgson and Dylan Holmes who were kicking goals for SA in the NTC Challenge in Canberra. So how they played (which by accounts of others on this forum was really competitive] was reflective of the above. ie. Played well with the team they had on the park.

Was certainly interesting
Great game overall, made all the more "interesting" by the guy with the whistle...
3-2 to Uni at half time. Great effort by Fulham to turn things around after going 5-2 down, with Uni just snatching a very late goal (at around the 94 minutes) to get the draw.
