Also a big thanks to the Pontians official who quickly got the stretcher when one of our players went down with an injury.Robbo wrote:Simmo asked me to put on here a massive thankyou to Pontians for the after match spread yesterday - apparently had a pig on a spit amongst other stuff, said to say it was absolutely unexpected and appreciated, well done lads
No substitutes during the game ???Knight15 wrote:swannsong wrote:Southern Knights ( 1 ) MSSC Blue Eagles ( 0 )

A single goal from Tom Foglia (his 17th of the season) early in the first half was enough to separate the two sides at O'Sullivan Beach today.
Knights were without regular keeper Stephen Maguire (country championships) but Ben "Touch" Vidgeon displayed why he is highly valued as a fill in keeper whenever required.
Knights were also missing Matthew Harrison (injured) David Mooney (susp) and Scott Bradley (holidays) but welcomed back Aaron O'Toole, Jamie Faulkner and Tom Foglia.
Not one of Knights best performances but just enough to stay on the heels of top placed Florina.
Southern Knights ( 2 ) MSSC Blue Eagles ( 2 )
Dustin McMahon ...................... C. Cirocco
Charlie Hollis ..........................A. Malekizadeh
Probably one of Southern Knights reserves most disjointed and poor performances of the current season.
A much stronger looking Blue Eagles took the lead from the penalty spot following an unnecccesary foul but Knights temporarily redeemed themselves when Dustin McMahon converted a penalty at the opposite end.
Blue Eagles second goal came from a searching free kick that they slotted home from close range.
After the break Phil Smith made a couple of fine saves to keep Knights in the game and eventually Charlie Hollis levelled the game with a superb free kick.
Two very scrappy games, pitch didn't help, so overused always cuts up really badly in last 3rd of the season. In the B's both teams were disappointed with a draw, with plenty of chances going begging, also I think all 22 players were unhappy with referee but anyway no team could feel robbed on that performance
In the A's we ground out a win to keep our faint hopes of winning the league alive however wasn't pretty, hope we get a few back for next week, but it is what it is
Oh, that's right up there with the 'it was a game of two halves", 'isn't it always" joke earlier in this thread, I'm so glad I was wearing a corset or my sides may have splitbloodypassit wrote:No substitutes during the game ???Knight15 wrote:swannsong wrote:Southern Knights ( 1 ) MSSC Blue Eagles ( 0 )

That's your opinion and your entitled to it.Rodent wrote:Well it was called off to make sure the A's & B's could play....DOC wrote:C team?lefty wrote:Inter vs Gardens
A's 0-2
B's 1-3
but I think the pitch could have handled 3 games ....
maybe the lack of available players was the issue ..
many away injured suspended possibly they found
it hard to fill all three teams....
Ha! That's one way of looking at it mate, guess we'll never know. A bit of a pity cause we're starting to get some results. Best of luck for the last 2 games though. I personally hope yous manage to take the title!PASC wrote:at least forefeit is only 2-0 i guess...The real thing wrote:Seaford probably would beat The Ghan at home next week if they didn't choose to not play.

I'll post the picture on the Easties Facebook page later, hardly a net buster ! We're more amazed at how he missed from 2.35 mtrs out in the first half.English wrote:That'll be that Lion's bounce! Drop the Gardens from your user name your disgrace to it ... you Goon ..!!!
Where did I say you forfieted..!!! I said it was cancelled to make sure the
pitch was ok to play the A & B games ..... I formed my opinion from what
I had been told during the day and after the game.... I thought Inter would
have trouble filling three teams.... See you at the cup game ... You are goin
to them arnt you ...??
Maybe you get off the pot ...!!
If they had a team to play, why didn't they contact us earlier so we could arrange the game at our ground if their pitch wasn't in condition for it!?Gardensgoon wrote:Cheers for the advice on the name but pass....Rodent wrote:Gardensgoon wrote:

Inter did everything they could to get the pitch in the condition it was including canceling the cs game!!
So you spoke to the wrong people..
Considering the importance for both as and bs games.
did they not do the right thing?
even someone as insignificant as you could see they did surely?
You prob will see me at the semis.
Il be the one playing in one of them.
Where will you be standing??
Well said Nuggett, except the smashing partKING NUGGETT wrote:You can take the boy away from the Gardens but you'll NEVER take Gardens out of the boy...
Gardensgoon for ever & with more Gardens Silverware than most.........
Hopefully catch up at Hindmarsh for a frothy after we smash Inter...
But you'll always be welcome home.
its looking like you guys would give ghan a good go having beat salvador who are much better then the table suggests, very similar teams infact.Irishglover wrote:Ha! So does a bloke that has spent around 15yrs with the club as a player (not a good one mind you), committee member, volunteer & junior coach of 10 of those years deserve some respect its not just about how many medals you won as a senior player or how good a bloke you are.KING NUGGETT wrote:Rat being a tad disrespectful to a past Gardens Legend I would say U2, players come & go from Clubs for thier own reasons & they are entitled to do so....
Fozzy gave our Club Great service & was a Great leader of our Club for many, many years & was part of something special & he certainly deserves Respect!
I think your example lefty is someone who commands most respect. First team players tend these days to get most things at their club on a plate yet the club stalwarts do help put nets up, put rubbish bins out, set up club functions, clear up after functions, run the line for the C grade, etc etc etc.lefty wrote:So does a bloke that has spent around 15yrs with the club as a player (not a good one mind you), committee member, volunteer & junior coach of 10 of those years deserve some respect its not just about how many medals you won as a senior player or how good a bloke you are.KING NUGGETT wrote:Rat being a tad disrespectful to a past Gardens Legend I would say U2, players come & go from Clubs for thier own reasons & they are entitled to do so....
