Bayern Munich employ former defender Breno as a coach on day-release from prison
Former Bayern Munich defender Breno has returned to work at the club on day-release from his prison sentence for aggravated arson.

The 23-year-old defender originally signed for Bayern in 2007 but was troubled by injuries.

He was then given a jail sentence of three years and nine months in July 2012 for setting fire to his rented Munich villa the September before.

Having served 13 months of the sentence, Breno has now been welcomed back at Bayern where he will help coach their reserve and youth teams.

He will begin during his five hours of release every morning from the Stadelheim correctional facility, before increasing his work to eight hours a day.

"The time in prison has been very hard for me," he Breno.


"I have changed as a person and I have learned a lot in there. I am happy to be given this chance by Bayern.

"It means I can train again and maybe play again later on — that's my dream."

Bayern president Uli Hoeness, who appeared beside the former player at a press conference, says the club "will do everything it can to help."

He was stoked to get the appointment and has been running around with his arson fire.
Apparently other contenders have been a little put out by the choice.

I heard he was dragged over hot coals during his interview which sparked a bit of a heated discussion.
He does however, know how to get his players match-fit but wanted a few redheads in the team to add a little fire.
