Para Hills East Reunion 24th August

Post by Statto11 »

This year marks a couple of special anniversaries for Para Hills East.

It has been 10 years since we last won the First Division title and more importantly this year it is also 20 years since we completed the Treble of League, Cup & Shield.

To celebrate both these achievements & the people who made it possible, we are having a Reunion Day on Saturday August the 24th at the club from 3pm. There will be Drink specials and a BBQ. We will also be showing some classic matches from the Treble year on the TV screens in the clubroom.

If you were part of either of these great sides or a supporter of the club or even if you competed against them and would like to catch up to reminisce about the good old days please feel free to come up the club. Also if you know anyone who might be interested in catching up with old friends please pass on this information.

Players from our current squad will also be in attendance too, so you can all tell them about how good you were and how much harder the players & games were back in the day :)

Hope to see many old & new faces on the 24th of August, Cnr Murrell Road & Nelson Road, Para Hills from 3pm.

As a Lion Player and still at Lion as the Coach now and the Keeper back then still hurts today as much as it did back then that we lost that Championship only needed a draw in our last 3 games to win the Sunday Div 1 Title in our first year in Div 1. Anyway congrats Para Hills East and hope you had a good night when you won it and a good night for your reunion. I still have nightmares about it!!!!!

Those were the days...dot matrix printer....cut and paste....then photocopy.
I used to go to the SAASL Headquarters on Port Road and get printouts of the goalscorers then go home and re-type them out.
Also remember the night catch up game against Noarlunga Lions at the Veneto....we won and secured promotion to Division 1.

Ohhhhh that was fantastic :D :D
Great memories for us and I can only imagine what this felt like for all at Lion! You've never recovered from that! We went on a great run of wins from memory and snatched it. I was only a fringe player back then but that was a really good first team and squad we had that year. Times have changed since those days! (for out I sound like all the oldies on here and I'm only 30!!) Great times at the East!!

Its all fine mate... Just head to the Emu for another drink and we can discuss the last game of the season . USC Lion needed the draw to win the title ,Parafield Gardens needed the win to avoid relegation .. How times have changed

Have a great night guys especially all the lads from that triple champion side, Keith boothy and some of the guys I still see now and again. Was a fantastic side and a great challenge to play against. They were good times. Enjoy the memories.
