Was very impressed with both parent groups, both appreciated the good football on display and heard many comments form both sides when either team did something good
Well done, and a good game as well

Cracker of a game, Enfield dominated but parked the bus last 20, brilliant free kick.

Re: Cup semi final result
Hardly dominated… in fairness great game but that last man tackle should have been a red and that would have changed everything, but congratulations to both sides

Brilliant or keeper error? surely a 60 yard strike (and must say the only strike on goal) should be easily tipped over the bar at that level.

yes strange decision that 1-1 with keeper, keeper brings down the player, gets a yellow, and penalty, why is this not a red?wkh78 wrote:Hardly dominated… in fairness great game but that last man tackle should have been a red and that would have changed everything, but congratulations to both sides

Re: Cup semi final result
Heard that Adel City def Western Strikers 3-2 in the 14s semi, with Strikers being the dominant & pressing side for most of the game but credit to Adel City as they got the goals to win in extra time, a very notable effort coming from winning the Kanga Cup in Canberra.
Re: Cup semi final result
Refs always softer with keepers, those challenges never end up being a red unless it is a blatant foul, which it wasn't, both going for the ball. The moyesiah wrote:yes strange decision that 1-1 with keeper, keeper brings down the player, gets a yellow, and penalty, why is this not a red?wkh78 wrote:Hardly dominated… in fairness great game but that last man tackle should have been a red and that would have changed everything, but congratulations to both sides
Sorry to reclarify my last comment, enfield dominated the midfield first half, after the goal which was a well struck free kick, and conditions were very tough for the keeper down that end, enfield went into defensive mode, and came out with the goods, like chelsea in the UCL.

the 14's game at Oakden was a cracker. Both teams slugged it out before a handy crowd and in good spirit.
only ever a goal between these two teams in the last 3 years.
some excellent talent on the park, in all areas.

U15
West Adelaide 2 Birkalla 1
Birkalla had this game at 1-0 with 10 minutes to go, however WA are not top for fun, and to their credit they scored an equalizer. Birks had the chance with 5 minutes left to slot an iffy penalty in and book their Hindmarsh appointment, however a soft kick straight to the keeper ended that dream and WA went straight down the other end and headed in a winner. Not a very good display by WA but good enough on a terrible pitch.
West Adelaide v White City, good luck to both teams on that day in August

U/17 Cup Semi Final
Well done to the blue eagles for defeating para hills 1-0 in the cup semi final on Friday night on what can only be described as an appalling pitch.
Shame on the FFSA for:
- not playing the semi final on a neutral ground. It was played at blue eagles. (Before Burton semi finals were played on neutral grounds)
- Not ensuring a full team of officials. Only one assistant referee showed up. The line was run by a blue eagles parent.
Isn't the role of the FFSA to ensure fairness is not only done but seen to be done?

Same thing happened at the U15 game Friday night, only one linesman and the other was a Home parent, and yes of course a goal was scored with a questionable offside to that linesman, who was 30 meters behind play most of the game screaming tactics to players anyway.
Re: Cup semi final result
I believe the u17s semi between Para Hills and Blue Eagles , was played in good spirits with both teams giving there all ,both teams had procession and a few chances to score , it was decided by one goal and a tight hard fought game , as for the pitch , it was good enough to play on and like the other semi were white city was the home team they to played at home . cant hear Enfield complain , and as for linesman , Para Hills would have had the chance if taken to do half the game . but this was not the only game were linesman didn't turn up , as I was at Campbelltown just before for a cup game with only the referee turning up . but overall the two teams played a good game and one has to lose ,. its a shame , but that's how it is .
Re: Cup semi final result
Firstly the two linesman at this game were both parents. On from WA and one for Birkalla. As for yelling both linesman were calling out . It was a enormous game for both. Birkalla had WA beaten in the first half and played magnificently but WA did not drop their heads . Both teams should be proud of themselves. It was a very emotional night for both teamsThe moyesiah wrote:groucho marx wrote:U/17 Cup Semi Final

The FFSA should have had it on a neutral pitch and supplied linesmen . But they didnt . Dont state that there was one official linesman and one home parent because this was not the case .
The Birkalla linesman was a dad who son was on the west Adelaide team last year but moved to Birkalla this year . And to his credit he was fair . Although a bit animated and understandably so he called it as it happened . Why do people have to think the worst . Great game from both teams .Dont tarnish it with crap

I stand corrected. On one point . Apparently there was an official linesman . He did the first half for Birkalla and the second half for WA. No dodgy goals or calls . like i said A great game

I acknowledge the game between blue eagles and para hills was played in good spirits and blue eagles were worthy winners.
My point still stands, the game should have been played on a neutral ground (as it was in the past), run by a team of neutral referees and the FFSA should have made this happen. Its about something much more important than winning and losing, its about fairness and respect for all the teams competing.
Re: Cup semi final result
Calais were you actually at the game?? At one point you are making statements of fact and then later on you are using the word "apparently" which really questions if you were watching this game at all.Calais wrote:Firstly the two linesman at this game were both parents. You really need to ensure you are making accurate statements before posting the dribble you posted in the first place.
If you were at the game you would know as fact that there were 2 officials from the FFSA, the central ref and 1 linesman, there is no disputing this.
The other linesman was a parent, in a semi cup game this should never ever happen.
Yes the parent did his best but unfortunately what you fail to acknowledge is that this best was simply not good enough. He was woefully out of position and the WA player looked off side when WA scored their first goal. This isn't thinking the worst this is pointing out the facts.
Along with the state of the pitch and the missing official this game should not have been played last Friday. Very poor management from the FFSA.
Also poor on your behalf Calais as you were clearly not at the game and have decided to post something from 4th and 5th hand information you received.

1. "Appalling" pitch was the same for both teams.
2. Blue Eagles parent running line or other officials had no bearing on result.
3. Blue Eagles were drawn as "home" team.
You forgot to mention that Blue Eagles didn't supply ball boys and an unlimited supply of balls.
Stop your whinging, it was a good, tough and intense game of football played by 2 teams that didn't want to lose, unfortunately someone has to lose.

1. Just because the pitch was the same for both teams didn't make it less 'appalling'.
2. As for the linesman, would Blue Eagles accept an Enfield parent running the line in the final because the FFSA could not provide a second linesman?
3. In the past semi finals were rightly played on neutral grounds despite one team nominally designated the 'home team'. I notice Blue Eagles have been named the 'home team' in the final, does that mean the game will be played at Marden instead of Hindmarsh?
It was a hard well fought game, the only 'loser' was a sense of 'fair go'.
