Considering the OP said "Brazil in Brazil" I don't think you are right.

My mail is September 6.

As long as they are playing. There is no point taking someone who isn't getting gametime just because they are young. It took Holger three years to work that out with his favourite XI. I just hope Neill, Cahill etc only get a gig if they are playing. Not much point discussing the selection of the squad now as there is an entire season between now and they everything could change by then.

GAME ON!!!
Australia are set to play the World Cup hosts Brazil on 7 September, with the Fifa website listing the match on its official fixture list.

The match will be particularly testing for the Socceroos – apart from the small matter of facing a multiple World Cup winner – as it will be a home fixture for Brazil, taking place in the country's capital, Brasilia. The two teams have both qualified for the 2014 World Cup, Brazil as hosts and Australia after a 1-0 victory over Iraq in their final qualifier.

Brazil have been in magnificent form of late, with Barcelona star Neymar helping them to a stunning 3-0 victory over the world champions Spain in the final of the Confederations Cup.

Brazil have four victories to Australia's one in meetings between the sides.

It's a FIFA-approved date when clubs have to release players to their national teams for World Club qualifiers too, so we'll have (and need) all our big names for this friendly with the host Brazil, who like ourselves don't have a tournament competitive game that day.

Watch the game, have a big breakfast, then off to a polling booth to wrestle with the metre-and-a-half long Senate voting paper and see what candidates Xenophon, Collis & Rees have pledged to do for our sport.

Correction: with Brazil minus 14 hours to us timewise , that match on 7 Sept in Brasilia is on FoxSports3 here at 4.30 am Sunday morning 8th September.

Apparently Archie Thompson thinks that Neymar is overrated. When told of this and asked what he thought of Archie, Neymar's reply was "Archie who? I don't know who he is."

Good call Archie.

Right or wrong, pundits are entitled to their opinions.
I once saw a transvestite in a mini skirt. I thought that shows a lot of balls.

Starting line-up:

Schwarzer

McGowan Neill Og McKay

Jedinak

Kruse Bresciano Oar

Holman

Kennedy

What was truly awful in that first half was how the midfield didn't stay compact against superior opposition. Kruse and Oar too wide, Holman was meant to drop in and help the other four but wasn't even jogging back when possession was lost. Holman a terrible loss of possession for one of Brazil's goals.

Jedinak as brittle as ever with poor ball control - on that showing Milligan would have been better at DM but was on the bench.

McKay and McGowan killed on the flanks, again and again not even goal-side of their attackers.

Let's hope Brazil take it easy 2nd half with a procession of half a dozen expected subs. It's only a friendly practice match, but gotta avoid humiliation.

F.T. 6-0 (Ramires, Pato & Gustavo second half goals)

Brazil made a total of 6 subs, but it didn't disrupt their momentum

Oar, Jedinak, Holman and Kennedy subbed out.

Thompson, Milligan, Rogic & Duke on for a run.

Couldn't tell if it was hot or humid, but such a listless flat display. No excuse for midfielders not jogging back when possession was lost. Jogging back should be automatic, but they were actually just standing or walking....
