This is in no way the view of the club

I feel as though your large sum of money wasn't as large as you think... But why bring that up?? How are you going this season anyway? Scored many goals? (Not having a crack just interested)
I would guess most proven strikers would be looking at $100+ bonuses
I doubt the $250 per game is true, I'd be surprised & shocked. But times are changing I guess. We have never paid loads of money & as monkey said we usually get most of our pay over the bar.

We do however, offer bottled water, lots of photos and a good atmosphere.....hopefully !

I definitely came to this country too late

$100 a game for amateur football, I would have popped over for a holiday every season.

Wow, im amazed at some of these stories on here. What Monkey Boy has said is right. No idea where some people come up with the figures being thrown around.
If we were offering $250 a game or even $100 a game then im pretty sure we would be running out of cash before the season finished!
We have a great bunch of lads who are more than happy with the arrangements we have with them.

I was speaking as a 'Southerner' .... I didn't need any of the previously mentioned incentives to keep me at the Downs for 26 years...
I'm sure they offer bottled water, sports drinks, photos etc etc. at the Downs now....but the atmosphere there is the real winner..

Sad to hear the coach has pulled the pin early on the club. It makes it hard for players to commit if the coach won't do the same.

I love beating Easties as they are our closest neighbour but there are some great people at the club like Monkey Boy and East 17. They are great club people who do a lot to keep a proud club up and running. Statto took over the reigns a few years ago now and when a few people were leaving the club, he gave them great stability and direction. East will find a coach and if they don't get promoted this year, they will be challenging for it again next year. I wish them all the best. Its not an easy game to be in charge or on the committee so keep your heads up guys. Would love to see you back in Div 1 for some more tough games against the Farm.

not accurate or fair on the departing coach, Dave didn't "pull the pin on the club" and there is/was no question about his commitment to the club.

So are you saying he was sacked then? Surely if it wasn't his decision to walk away and he was committed then it must have been the club that dispensed with his services?

no, you have interpretted what i said wrong. as statto said the club and dave parted ways by mutual agreement. Dave gave everything he could to the club for the past 18 months and to call into question his commitment is wrong. that is the point i was making.

So he must have "pulled the pin" to some extent if he AGREED to walk away from the role? I am sure he can still be committed to supporting the club but obviously if the club does not want him to coach that would be pretty demotivating to want to stay committed to coaching?

i'm sure you're not so naive to think that everything in the world is black and white, there is always more to everything than what would appear. conclusions will inevitably be made people that don't know the details.

In the absence of any real answers people are bound to draw conclusions based on the evidence and testimony they do have.

Where is the grey area if he was "committed" to the role and yet is no longer in the role?

sounds to me like what has been mentioned. there's no point a coach staying on if he doesn't have full backing - would be hard to operate as such. either that or something in his personal life is stopping him giving 100% to the club.

There are personal reasons that will remain undisclosed that have brought this decision on. thereis no need to speculate any further on this. Dave has departed. Lets all move on.

I have had alot of fun knocking in the goals in Div 2 Saturdays with Vipers Fc. I didn't say it was a large sum of money Dave offered me but it was was more than some pocket change and he was mentioning goal bonuses , that's what I said, I brought it up due to some people claiming there were some large offers to certain players. On a side note played against you boys the previous 3 years and your hospitality was top notch hope everything gets sorted,
