on the ground next to us it looked like Hazara beat Adelaide Uni in the As, not sure on the score. speaking to the ref afterwards, apparently one bloke from Hazara threatened to take the ref out n had to be literally dragged off the park. this Hazara club is an absolute disgrace, incidents week in week out, time they were removed from the competition. like the ref said, he comes to the game to earn a small amount of coin and enjoy his Saturday, he doesn't want to have to worry about whether he is going to make it to his car or not after the game.
Teams like this need to go.
Last week they sexually assaulted one of our players (might sound dramatic - but at the end of the day it is what it is).
Amateur League need to get their head out the sand and act on this.

Apparently Cougars are at full strength and had a very good side out there on Saturday, we on the other hand are pretty bare at the moment in the A's and B's and they played us off the park.Azzurri80 wrote:S.Villa 1 Breakers 1 - Breakers stealing a point at the end.
B's S.Villa 7 Breakers 0 - Great result for the boys.
Some amazing results this round!

Modbury day out!
Add poor efforts and attitudes to start the game and you get a scoreline like that...Could have been more bar our keeper
that is just back from a Back injury and played his guts out.
Our game plan was changed for the 2nd half and we played a lot better, will say cougars weren't as organized as the first half but
when your up by 5 and the opposition had just copped a bake you would hope things would change.
We missed some open goal chances and a few that should have gone in on a day you get the rub.
End of the day the score line reflects their dominance on the day.
Thank god for the A's game and getting the 3 points with the outs we had, was a very gutsy effort and saved the dog from a beating when I got home...

Some very interesting decisions to say the least. How Butler was able to stay on the park after being shown his second yellow (a case of mistaken identity with Tom Barnhurst??? - poor Tom) as well as playing a very generous amount of extra time.Thunder Man wrote:Sturt Marion vs Adelaide Wanderers
A Grade 3-3 - referee had a shocker - Sturt scored very very late to tie it upB Grade 5-1 - Sturt too good
C Grade 0-2 - Wanderers to strong in this one.
Thanks to Wanderers boys for sticking around for food and drinks post game. Good bunch of guys and looking forward to the game at their ground.
Still Sturt didn't let their heads drop and pushed right until the end.
It's all in the Delivery!
Re: Saturday results
Has anyone from the Cougars or ARBE contacted the league regarding your round 1 result in the reserves? The game was played from memory wasn't it?

We played a friendly for an hour to pass the time, wasn't an official game.Azzurri80 wrote:Has anyone from the Cougars or ARBE contacted the league regarding your round 1 result in the reserves? The game was played from memory wasn't it?

Pleasure mate, thanks to all of you for sticking around and supporting the club. All of us are looking forward to the return trip as we had a ball the last time we made the trip a few years back and stayed a couple nights. The Toffees wrote:huge thanks to salisbury villa for their hospitality on saturday. I played reserves and have to admit that you guys were one of the nicest and fairest teams I've come across. No whinging, calling for cards etc, etc. Had a laugh with a couple lads during the game and I was amazed at how supportive you all are of one another considering the hard time you've had with some big losses.
We appreciated you all making the long trip and especially having a good crack at it in the reserves. Not good for us, but you have to be happy with the effort from your A's lads, upsetting most teams to grab some points through sheer tough persistence.
Put the beers on ice and we'll see you at the end of the season!

heard he was also sent off during the game as well, coming onto the pitch to get involved in a fight.
No doubt cougars will slag me off but just seeking confirmation of what I have been told.

From what I saw (and remember) - his player blew a fuse, started a melee right on the touchline, he grabbed him by the shirt out of the pack (didn't even come on the pitch in the process), and the player just flipped and started attacking him.
The coach in my opinion did nothing wrong. There were a few players that swung punches that should probably be punished harder if they're looking to tell someone off.

Just to confirm the coach has not been sacked. He, nor did anyone come on to the pitch to fight. We look forward to a good game against RBE. Cheers.God is an Englishman wrote:terminator wrote:Cougar A coach to be sacked I hear - grabbing 1 of your players throats after the game is never a gd look..

Re: Saturday results
Yep...The coach was trying settle things down by pulling the player away...The Referee was within his rights to send him away according to the rules but common sense is a different thing though....My opinion is the ref should have seen it for what it was and just continued the match.Lucas Leiva wrote:From what I saw (and remember) - his player blew a fuse, started a melee right on the touchline, he grabbed him by the shirt out of the pack (didn't even come on the pitch in the process), and the player just flipped and started attacking him.

I will say it was a tough game but I applaud the Cougar hierarchy/Club officials during and after the match for their handling of the players and supporters.

With all due respect, this matter has nothing to do with you or your club.

The Cougers Coach did nothing wrong. I play for Vipers and think he handled the situation well, sure he grabbed his player but it was only to prevent a fight from occurring. The ref should have a bit of common sense and see he was only helping calm matters down. Enough said we move on to this week like Cougers will.

Yet, they slated someone for the same last week and that person didn't even come on the pitch and got thanked by the ref rather than sent off.Terrible Shot wrote:The Cougers Coach did nothing wrong. They can't have it both ways!
2 fights in 2 weeks involving cougars - common denominator?

could hardly call them fights. All clubs get involved in these so called "fights". We are here to play soccer and enjoy ourselves and support each other in our football community. What happens on the pitch usually stays on the pitch. Thats the difference between men and worms.God is an Englishman wrote:Yet, they slated someone for the same last week and that person didn't even come on the pitch and got thanked by the ref rather than sent off.Terrible Shot wrote:The Cougers Coach did nothing wrong. you seem to be the latter, postings all your slander trying to create bad impressions about other clubs. Focus on being positve, incidents occur, resolved and then we move. You get the picture GIAE?

That's strange because I didn't bring up last weeks incident, one of your mob did. Calling your own team mates worms eh!
What have I said that's slander? You might also want to look up the definition of slander whilst you're there as well
